yeah, I can see what you're saying.

casino seems to me to be joe pesci's shining moment, though. he dominates casino more than any of the other scorsese movies he's been in.

I stayed home from work yesterday, was feeling a bit queasy... (nothing serious, though).
so I spent the afternoon watching three movies in a row (on hulu).
two of which I had seen before, and I like them both:

but, the third one... sorry, but I thought this one was pure and utter crap:

not even one of stephen king's better stories to begin with...

I think you're right on all three. I saw the 1989 Pet Semetary and thought it sucked. I thought the remake couldn't be any worse. They both sucked.

I saw this at the movie theater when it first came out. I didn't like it then, and I didn't like it this time around either.

come to think of it, I've never liked any of the oliver stone movies I've seen.

The thing about this movie is that it seems to be a statement on the glorification of violence in the media. While at the same time exploiting said violence for capital gain. This a common theme with Stone's films in my opinion.

yeah, I get the point the movie is trying to make. it just doesn't work for me. I think that it's oliver stone who's exploiting and he's also too propagandistic for my taste.

I completely agree. I also have some theories that Stone may be a disinformation agent himself, but we'll save that for another time. :smoke:

mrs. gravy and I have been watching season 9 of this:

Image

it's a bit corny and predictable, but we like it.
we needed a break from all the serious movies and stuff we've been watching, I guess...

try.....the girls loved it.....

I liken Million Dollar Baby to From Dusk to Dawn (well for me, anyway.) I hadn't read anything about either movie before I watched them, and they both let you think that the movie is about one thing when near the end they are about something completely different.
