Lynyrd Skynyrd founding member Larry Junstrom dies at 70
For those of you playing along at home, that leaves only one original living member (Gary Rossington b. Dec 4th conceptual continuity)

Lynyrd Skynyrd's original bass guitarist from: 1964 to 1971

I think he appeared on a couple of their early singles.....
Philo' (Skynyrd super fan) would know more.....

I’m afraid Philo may be gone with the wind.

He left before Skynyrd's debut album, so it's doubtful that he was on any recordings. Not mentioned above: he was an original member of .38 Special and was with the band from 1977 to 2014.

Average White Band sax player Molly Duncan has died

https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2019/1008/1081926-average-white-band-sax-player-molly-duncan-has-died/

A founding member of the legendary Scottish funk band Average White Band has died after being diagnosed with cancer.
Malcolm 'Molly' Duncan played saxophone in the group, including on their US chart-topper, and best-known tune, Pick Up The Pieces. It's been a dancefloor staple since its release in 1974.
The soul and funk outfit, formed in 1972, gained worldwide success including a number one album in the US.
Duncan and his bandmate Roger Ball were known as the Dundee Horns, having both attended art college in the city.
The band paid tribute to Duncan on their Facebook page, saying he was "one of the funniest and most charming people you could ever meet".
They posted: "We are saddened to learn of the passing of our old friend and tenor player, Molly Duncan.
"He had a recent bout with cancer, and so one half of the 'Dundee Horns' is with us no more.
"His was the world-famous sax solo on Pick Up The Pieces, but apart from that he was one of the funniest and most charming people you could ever meet.
"He was a founding member of the band - also from Dundee Art College, as are Roger Ball and Alan Gorrie - and will be sorely missed.
"His son, Dan, was with him at the end, and our condolences are with him and other family members."

I don’t know anything definitive about Philo. I just meant he was gone from the forum and I don’t expect him to return. He was open about his health issues but anything about his current condition is pure speculation.

I could be wrong but I don’t think he knows anything either. Downer Mydnite was close to Philo as well but now he’s gone missing too.

^Well, that’s encouraging at least. That was just a few weeks ago. I think he’s decided he just doesn’t want to do this forum thing anymore.
