'Fox Has Changed.....
There's Something Going On.....
I'm Not Happy With It'.....

U.S. President Donald Trump talks to journalists before boarding Marine One and departing the White House August 02, 2019 in Washington, DC. Trump on Sunday slammed Fox News polls and pundits as he was leaving New Jersey.

President Donald Trump lashed out at his favorite cable news channel, Fox News, on Sunday over the network's recent political polls and some of their pundits.

"Fox is a lot different than it used to be. I can tell you that," the president told reporters in New Jersey.

Trump went on to mention Fox News analyst Juan Williams and former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile. "They have the wonderful woman that gave Hillary Clinton the questions," the president said. "That was a terrible thing. And all of a sudden, she's working for Fox. What's she doing working for Fox?"

"Fox has changed, and my worst polls have always been from Fox. There's something going on at Fox. I'll tell you right now. And I'm not happy with it," Trump continued. "I don't know what's happening with Fox... They have Juan Williams who has never says a positive thing and yet when I show up at the Fox building, he's out there [saying], 'Oh sir, could I have a picture of you? Could I have a picture?.' He was 100 percent nice."

"They have to run it the way they want to run it. But Fox is different. There's no question about it, I think they're making a big mistake because Fox was treated very badly by the Democrats. Very, very badly. Having to do with the debates and other things," he added. "I think Fox is making a big mistake because, you know, I'm the one that calls the shots on the really big debates."

Trump then listed some Fox personalities that he still likes. "Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson and Laura [Ingraham]. Jesse Waters and Jeanine [Pirro]," the president said.

Earlier on Sunday, Trump lashed out at Williams on Twitter after the Fox News analyst criticized him during a re-aired segment on Fox News Sunday at around 2 p.m. ET. "Juan Williams at @FoxNews is so pathetic, and yet when he met me in the Fox Building lobby, he couldn't have been nicer as he asked me to take a picture of him and me for his family. Yet he is always nasty and wrong!" the president tweeted.

Trump's remarks against his favorite network comes days after his disapproval rating soared to 56 percent in a new Fox News poll. The poll, published on Wednesday, showed a five percent increase in the president's disapproval rating from last month's figures. According to the network, the president's disapproval rating has only been higher once, in October 2017 when it was at 57 percent.

Fox gets weed wrong again, says homeless people 'shoot up' marijuana

https://mashable.com/article/fox-outnumbered-david-avella-shoot-up-marijuana/

A Fox News guest said that San Francisco should be focused on solving its homelessness crisis instead of trying to improve the language used in its justice system — specifically, they should focus on those on the streets who "just shot up marijuana."

San Francisco's Board of Supervisors adopted new "person first" guidelines to refer to people with criminal records. Instead of calling someone a convicted felon, for example, the city would refer to them as a "formerly incarcerated person" or a "justice-involved" person, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Repeat offenders would be called "returning residents." Minors will be referred to as "young person with justice system involvement" or "young person impacted by the juvenile justice system" instead of juvenile delinquents, and drug addicts will be called people "with a history of substance use."

Supervisor Matt Haney said the official parlance will prevent residents from being "forever labeled for the worst things that they have done."

During Thursday's Outnumbered, a Fox show in which a panel of four women and one male guest discuss current events, the co-hosts railed on the city's new language guidelines.

"If you thought San Francisco couldn't find more ways to push political correctness, check this out," co-host Melissa Francis said in the segment.

Guest David Avella, who chairs GOPAC, an organization that trains Republican candidates, insisted that San Francisco should take its victims into consideration, not the formerly incarcerated.

"Actions speak louder than words, and what we also didn't hear from our friends in San Francisco is what new words should we use for victims. So often over the last couple of years, the focus in California has been on the defendant, not on the victims ... California has tried to clear out their prisons and yet every year they continue to have overcrowded prisons."

Here's where Avella fumbles the drug references.

"And the focus ought to be on a society that follows the law, not allowing people to defecate in the streets," he continued. "Not allowing individuals to lay on the street having just shot up with marijuana ..."

"Heroin," an Outnumbered co-host corrects him.

"Heroin, and having a needle sticking out of them," he said. "We ought to be focused on solving crimes."

The segment, which began gaining attention after Mediaite reporter Caleb Ecarma tweeted a clip of the gaffe, is getting mocked by Twitter users.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1164587591552962560

"Injecting a weed" is a long-running joke to refer to those so out of the loop, they have no idea how consuming marijuana works. While there are a variety of ways to get high (or find some pain relief without the psychoactive effects), intravenous injection isn't a particularly popular one.

That being said, there have been cases of injecting cannabis. The last case documented by an English language medical journal was recorded by the Western Journal of Medicine in 1983. The patient made a "boiled marijuana broth," strained it through cotton, and injected the liquid into the vein in his inner elbow. He claimed to have tried it once before and experienced "pleasant psychological effects only," but then began experiencing a cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, back pain, and a fever. He was discharged from the hospital after five days of IV fluids and antibiotics.

Dr. Bob Melamede, who has a Ph.D in molecular biology and biochemistry and is a vocal advocate for the therapeutic use of cannabis, dismissed claims of injectable THC. He told Westword, a Denver local news site, in 2013 that THC can't be suspended in a liquid water-based solution.

"These are basically oils, and oil and water don't mix — and they certainly don't mix into any kind of form that's going to be injectable," he said.

So Avella's claim isn't totally unfounded, but the likelihood that people are "shooting up" marijuana in 2019 is slim.

This isn't the first, and it's unlikely the last, time a Fox guest has associated marijuana with homelessness and poverty. In 2017, a guest claimed food stamps recipients were using their government benefits to buy weed and cocaine. Last year, a guest attributed Colorado's homeless population to the state's legalized marijuana. Marijuana's role as a "gateway drug" has been widely debunked, and while Colorado did see an 8 percent uptick in homelessness the year after legalizing, critics and homeless people alike agree the causes are more nuanced, however.

Shep Smith announces he is leaving Fox News

Image

New York (CNN Business) In a stunning announcement, Shepard Smith said on his Friday show that after more than two decades at Fox News, he was stepping down as chief news anchor, and leaving the network.

"This is my last newscast here," Smith said, adding that he was "eternally grateful" to Fox for the opportunities it has afforded him.

"Together with my colleagues, we have written a first draft of history," Smith said. "Endeavored to deliver it to you while speaking truth to power, without fear or favor, in context and with perspective."

Smith signed off his newscast saying, "Even in our current polarized nation, it is my hope that the facts will win the day, that the truth will always matter, that journalism and journalists will thrive."

Smith's departure comes as tension between the network's news and opinion divisions reaches an all-time high. In the Trump era, and particularly in the last several weeks, the people working for Fox's news division have seen their work undermined by their opinion colleagues.

Recently, Smith engaged in a feud with opinion host Tucker Carlson.

Smith said that he recently asked Fox to allow him to leave and begin a "new chapter."

"After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged," Smith said.

She probably got tired of living in the Fantasy Land of FOX, too tied to Mr. Trump.
She wised up.

That's kind of misleading, if you read the article. She also said "facts matter" about Fox. But in her statement about CBS she said that facts and storytelling matter. So it could have been a swipe at Fox.

Fox Business parts ways with Trish Regan, host who dismissed coronavirus as 'impeachment scam'

Image

New York (CNN Business) - The Fox Business Network announced on Friday that it had parted ways with Trish Regan, the conservative news host who ignited controversy earlier this month when she dismissed the coronavirus pandemic as a conspiracy to throw President Trump out of office.

"We thank her for her contributions to the network over the years and wish her continued success in her future endeavors," the network said in a statement to CNN Business. "We will continue our reduced live primetime schedule for the foreseeable future in an effort to allocate staff resources to continuous breaking news coverage on the Coronavirus crisis."

The news of her departure was first reported by NBC News.

Regan faced fierce criticism earlier this month when she described the coronavirus to her viewers as an "impeachment scam."

Regan claimed "many in the liberal media" were using the pandemic "in an attempt to demonize and destroy" Trump.

"This is impeachment all over again," Regan said at the time, claiming Trump's critics were using the pandemic to spark panic and destabilize the economy to harm his chances of being re-elected.

Following the monologue, and the widespread criticism that ensued, the Fox Business Network removed her show from its lineup.

"I have enjoyed my time at FOX and now intend to focus on my family during these troubled times," Regan said in a statement on Friday. "I am grateful to my incredible team at FOX Business and for the many opportunities the network has provided me. I'm looking forward to this next chapter in my career."

Fox News and the Fox Business Network have come under fire in recent weeks for how its top hosts and personalities initially covered the coronavirus pandemic.

For weeks, they downplayed the coronavirus, with Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham telling their audiences that news coverage of the virus was aimed at hurting Trump politically.

The often-dismissive messaging from Fox News hosts was notable, given that the viewers who make up the network's audience skew older and are thus more vulnerable to the disease.

Polls from both Gallup and Pew Research revealed that Republicans — who are largely distrustful of mainstream news organizations and primarily turn to Fox News and other right-wing sources for information on current events — were much less likely to take the risks of the coronavirus as seriously as their Democratic counterparts.

There's so much nuts at FOX.
