“One painting I don't have a photo of is one of a base (sic) player playing a stand-up base. Very few lines but just enough to get the whole feeling of this base player's mood. It was a masterpiece. Don't know what ever happened to this painting. At one point I was going to contact Gail to see if she had it.” - Kay J Sherman, 2012

The watercolor is now up for auction: http://www.weissauctions.com/AMSEvents/ViewEvent.aspx?id=c510b09d-5827-4a06-80d5-de78608743cd

Because bass is misspelled three times in the above sentence, I refuse to enter this auction.

And there's no fucking way I could afford that.

I wonder if Frank dabbled in art or drawing later in his career. I think all of the examples I have seen of his artwork have been from his youth or as a young man. He was very good.

from all the examples of his art we have seen here on the forum over the years, I am sure he studied art in his youth.

and, just like he was self-taught when it came to music, harmony and composing, he probably taught himself different techniques about drawing and painting.

I bet also, that he liked picasso. 8)
