King Crimson without Fripp.
O.K., no Bruford, either, but Terry Bozzio carries it off great!

"Recently digitised from the original Japanese masters and remixed by legendary engineer Bob Clearmountain, this extended edition finally offers a full - concert-length - release of the Night After Night performances in 24-bit/96k high-fidelity stereo and 5.1 surround-sound."

"Multi-disc CD/ DVD-a/Blu-Ray set covering the period from the late 1990s – 2008 – completing the availability of all King Crimson studio albums in 5.1 multi-channel audio.

Eleven years, numerous ProjeKcts, dozens of concerts, complete studio recordings of the era, with re-recordings in new stereo & 5.1, and over 10 hours of live video footage, Heaven and Earth is the most extensive account of this part of King Crimson’s ongoing story.

This 24 disc - 18 x CD, 4 x Blu-Ray and 2 x DVD-A - set represents the most comprehensive collection in the series to date and covers the period from December 1997 to August 2008."

Got my tickets for the July show in Lyon. The venue in Lyon is pretty cool.

^ Photo shows the eight-man lineup, but Bill Rieflin had to drop out again. The original plan was to bring in Theo Travis as a replacement on keyboards, but instead they're going out as a seven-piece. (Same lineup they had in '16.)

Awrite GG, finally some pix of this band in action. Kinda sick of the shots taken after a performance is over.

I saw the show at Radio City 9/21/2019, and liked it a lot. Great setlist. Enjoyed the 3-drummer-up-front thing more than last time (2017, Beacon Theater, if memory serves). The sound in Radio City is superior to the Beacon, imo, which made a difference. We were on Gavin's side, which was great. Jakko's vocals were improved and excellent. Glad I went.

I'll repeat what I said last time: I can't get past the lack of any lighting effects (with the exception of Starless), especially on the older material. I don't get it.

Off topic: Saw Steve Hackett 9/25 at the Beacon, which I also liked a lot. Nad was great covering Selling England, played in it's entirety. Most of Spectral Mornings before the intermission, Dance On A Volcano and Los Endos/Air Conditioned Nightmare/Slogans/Los Endos encore. Going again in March.

Sad to hear that the artist, Francesca Sundsten--Bill Rieflin's wife--died a couple of months ago.

Bummer, is it related to Bill's in and out movements with the band?

The tour was finished yesterday in Santiago, Chile.

What's next? A studio album would be a treat.

I had heard that it was a health issue that caused Bill to miss some tours; apparently it was his wife's health, not his own. I understand he visited with the band backstage when they played Oakland last month.

Replacement 48Khz downloads for HEAVEN & EARTH Boxed Set buyers.

As many of you will know, a small amount of the music on the BluRays contained in the King Crimson Heaven & Earth Boxed Set played at slightly the wrong speed due to an error by the authoring company.
The albums that were affected were largely the previously released versions of the Projekcts that were added late-on as bonus items, more specifically: Projekct X (Heaven & Earth), Projekct One (Jazz Café, KCCC 22, 4 Dec 97), Projekct Two (Space Groove, Live Groove) , Projekct Three (Masque), Projekct Four (West Coast Live), Fripp, Rieflin & Gunn (Repercussions of Angelic Behaviour), BPM&M (XtraKcts & ArtifaKcts).
There is now a webpage where purchasers can download a correct version of these albums. To do this, you will need a unique code.
To receive your code, please send an email to heavenandearth@dgmhq.com . You will need to include some form of proof of purchase. This could be an email order, a copy of a receipt, or indeed a photograph of the box. Those who purchased through Inner Knot or Burning Shed should be receiving a separate email notification, and can simply forward that email as proof of purchase.

^^^I don’t download or even have a computer so I’ll just live with the slightly wrong speeds. I’ve listened to this stuff and didn’t notice anything askew. I now kind of wish I didn’t even know about these defects.

Then, my work is done.

I'm not upgrading, either. I have the original releases, and didn't notice anything particularly off with the ones in the box.)
