^ Just the opposite. A very good day. A wonderful day! It's gonna get even better in a few hours.

Do you think FZ was having a bad day when he wrote Hot Plate Heaven?? How about when he showed up on Crossfire?

Mr Nice plasters other people's political propaganda all over the Zappa forum. Ask him what kind of day he's having.

You seem to be upset. Are having trouble playing with others?

fox news

-A fox cub had to be rescued after it became lodged in the back of a dishwasher while searching for food.

The four-month-old fox crept into the Enfield home of vet Dr Simon Hayes, and managed to get itself stuck in a tight spot when the father of three walked out of the kitchen.

Dr Hayes had to use his expertise with animals to coax it out of the dishwasher, before documenting the unusual incident online.

In a blog post, the vet wrote: “At 10pm on Sunday evening, loading the dishwasher as normal, I got distracted and went out the room for a few minutes.

“When I came back, there he was, a little fox cub probably 4-5 months old sitting in the dishwasher. He must have come in the open back door and been looking for food.

^ Apparently.

The only fox I've seen face to face was a rabid fox. I was probably 10 years old. I came around the corner on my bike and the fox ran off into the woods behind my neighbor's house. I didn't know the fox had rabies until later when some grown ups encountered her/him at another edge of the woods. I remember feeling bad for the fox. I don't remember any neighborhood pets being harmed.

more fox news soon...

Trump tells Fox to 'bring back' Jeanine Pirro; source says she was suspended for Islamophobic remarks

Image

New York (CNN Business) Jeanine Pirro, whose show did not air on Saturday night, was suspended by Fox News after her widely criticized commentary doubting Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's patriotism, according a source familiar with the matter.

Fox did not announce the suspension publicly. The network declined to confirm or deny that Pirro has been suspended. There is no word on whether Pirro's show will return next week.

At the same time, there is no indication that she has been fired from Fox. The source said she has not been fired.

Pirro is one of the network's highest-rated weekend hosts, well known for her vehement defenses of President Donald Trump and attacks against his perceived enemies.

On Sunday morning the president returned the favor, tweeting, "Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well."

Last Saturday night Pirro questioned whether Omar's Islamic religious beliefs stand in opposition to the US Constitution, prompting Fox to say "we strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro's comments."

The network said at the time that the views Pirro expressed "do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly" — but declined to say if she was being sanctioned in any way.

Several advertisers subsequently distanced themselves from Pirro's weekly show, called "Justice."

The show did not appear on this weekend's cable schedule guide. In its place was an unusual repeat of a documentary series.

Pirro has not said anything about taking a vacation. She hasn't tweeted since last weekend.

Last week, Pirro targeted Omar — one of the few Muslim members of Congress — by noting Omar's religious head-covering called a hijab.

"Think about it: Omar wears a hijab," Pirro said. "Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?"

Among many other critics, a Fox News staffer pushed back on Pirro's statements. Hufsa Kamal, a producer on Fox's "Special Report with Bret Baier," tweeted: "@JudgeJeanine can you stop spreading this false narrative that somehow Muslims hate America or women who wear a hijab aren't American enough? You have Muslims working at the same network you do, including myself."

When Fox condemned Pirro, she also issued a statement. She did not apologize. She said she intended to "ask a question and start a debate."

"Of course because one is Muslim does not mean you don't support the Constitution," she said. "I invite Rep. Omar to come on my show any time to discuss all of the important issues facing America today."

Omar did not answer that invitation, but she thanked Fox News for rebuking Pirro.

Fox reporter mocked for wearing protective vest at the US-Mexico border
Alex Horton·13:10, Apr 05 2019

Image
Wearing a tactical green plate carrier and a stern look, Fox News contributor Lawrence Jones looked more ready for eastern Syria than the southern US border.

Jones appeared on Sean Hannity's Wednesday show to discuss the border in "crisis," using the stark terms of border officials and US President Donald Trump, who has driven home violent imagery on the borderlands to justify moving billions from defence spending to construct a wall.

To a viewer, it was not clear from the segment if Jones faced any threat of violence as he spoke under bright television lights in an area apparently secured by border agents. In other moments of the segment, Jones and his border agent escort wore no vests as they stood on the banks of the Rio Grande.

Responding to criticism later on Twitter that he overplayed the actual threat, Jones said border officials "instructed" him to wear it for a ride-along.

Jones posted a photo of himself wearing the same vest before another segment on Thursday. When commentator Roland Martin criticised it, Jones tweeted: "Did I say it was a war zone or did you ignorantly assume that because I was wearing a vest?"

Other people who have done similar segments called out Jones.

"This is totally ridiculous. I have never once worn a bulletproof vest at the border, nor has CBP ever asked me to - even while on a chase with Border Patrol to apprehend migrants in remote Arizona desert in the middle of the night," said Jacob Soboroff, an MSNBC correspondent. "Because. The. Border. Is. Not. A. War. Zone."

Images matter when they convey an idea to an audience of millions, on a network the president's surrogates have used as a platform to argue for stricter immigration policies and the wall. And Trump has portrayed the border as a frontier marked by unrelenting violence, while more often the opposite is true.

Jones wore what appears to be a carrier vest used to house a ballistic armour plate to protect vital organs. There does not appear to be a plate inserted, and it is possible the inside has soft armour typically rated for smaller, handgun-type ammunition.

A Customs and Border Protection patch or bade is affixed alongside empty pouches, and it is possible the vest was provided to help border agents identify Jones as a vetted reporter.

It's not clear if that was a safety regulation or what kind of safety a plate carrier with minimal ballistic protection but no helmet is meant to provide. Jones appeared in other segments in dress shirts. The plate carrier would take less than half a minute to put on.

A Fox News spokeswoman declined to comment on the segment.

Jones was dispatched to Laredo, Texas, a border town that has seen falling violence in the past decade and that, in 2016, had a lower violent crime rate than the state average, the Laredo Morning Times reported, citing FBI data.

In fact, crime rates in US border counties are lower than the average for similarly sized inland counties, with one exception out of 23 total, according to the Mexico Institute at the Wilson Center, a Washington think tank.

Laredo's Webb County, from where Jones filed his report, is safer than 80 per cent of comparable counties nationwide, the institute said, using FBI crime statistics.

"There is no doubt, the US side (of the border) is a very safe place," Christopher Wilson, deputy director of the institute, told The Washington Post last year.

There are a few general conclusions as to why this is the case. There is a substantial federal law enforcement presence in towns and along highways in the border counties, as the flashing border agent vehicle lights in Jones's segment indicates.

There are some exceptions. Ranchers in southern Arizona have encountered drug traffickers on their property, though traffickers are more likely to settle problems with violence in Mexico, where police and the rule of law are barriers they can more easily overcome.

But on Wednesday's show, the segment ended with some artfully created tension of "breaking news," Jones said, as he was about to describe a common occurrence.

"We just got word from the agents that are with us, keeping us safe: There is an attempt to cross the border right now," Jones said.
