Had a nice surprise in the PO Box today, a "save FZ's vault" reward arrived.

Two strips of 16mm film, six frames per strip.

one strip is a black and white head shot of Frank, (on stage frowning)
the other is a colour shot of either the second gunman on the grassy knoll in Dallas or
a snippet of Bruce Bickford's claymation, I can't be sure which.....

the film strips are sandwiched between two pieces of clear Perspex (130mm x 75mm) presented in a tasteful little black box and there is a certificate of authenticity.

the carton that arrived was around A4 sized, and had a circular white label on the rear with all FZ's and the Zappa's logo's and terminologies 'n' stuff on it, you would know it if you saw it, which I surgically removed and popped into the scrap book, very nice.....

I am not in the least bit jealous , uh huh , no , not me ! :)

Watch out for flakes...

Today, I enthusiastically danced to the 12-inch mix of Dancin' Fool with Daughter_of_Mr_Green_Genes... at 7 in the morning... A good way to start the day...

(First, a little nostalgia for the old folks...)
Back in 2006 or so, while working on The Unmoderated, I got a call from GZ. I think the 1st thing she said was something like, "Don't worry, its ok". I sounded weird cuz I had a bad cold. I explained that and then she said that the Zappa Family Remedy was to put Vicks Vaporub - on the soles of the feet! She was serious, but I never tried it and thought it a bit odd.
Now, today on the radio, I hear that there is now some understanding of how it works. Something about clearing TRP channels blablabla. I don't really understand how/if it works, but if it does end up being common use, I gotta credit GZ for telling me first! :)

Today my feet took me from my car to the dentist.....8:30am there was a loud splash in my second coffee of the day, a f#!$@# traitorous filling had bailed out! abandoned ship! done a runner! I made the call to Doctor Payne who squeezed me in at 10:00am. Good Old Doc Payne, the last of the nitrous oxide dentists, with Meddle on the sound system he blasted me, my second coffee of the day and the remnants of the forty six year old black mercury and iron filling and rebuilt the tooth from the gum up. An hour and a half and $507.80 later I'm dribbling most of the third coffee of the day on my newish shirt  :| I'm over it.....
