Well......the Fonda show in Hollywood last night was the best DZ show I've ever seen!
They play solid from 9pm til Midnight. The setlist was mixed around a bit from the one above, and we got T'mershi Duween(Polka Version) instead of Oh In The Sky.

Special guests-

During King Kong Mr. Kiko Loureiro from Megadeth soloed on an Ibanez guitar with DZ.
There was a guest percussionist(vibes, bongos, etc) for about 5 songs at different times during the show.
School of rock male guitarist soloed on Muffin Man.

Adam Minkoff was really amazing. He played on the percussion kit and some weird metal thing as well as guitar, keys and snare drum. His voice sounds so much like Franks when he needs to.

Kurt's new P Bass is awesome and he played that fretless jazz bass for at least five songs.

Cian Coey's voice on Fifty-Fifty was brilliant! As well as everything else she did.(little piggy)

Sheila, Chris and Ryan were great as usual.

King Kong and Drowning Witch were very lengthy pieces, as they should be.

Your best bet for the merch booth is the Live In The Moment II cd. I'm crankin' it reet naw!

You are gonna love this leg of the tour Western North America!

Coach House show is tonight but I'm gonna stay home.

Who's going to the Napa CA show Sunday 12/9?
He played Fillmore in SF last night, but I couldn't go to that one.

I’m easy to spot these days, mysteryhorn. I’m the devilishly handsome dude without a speck of hair on his cranium and sporting black glasses. Let me know if you want to grab a beer before the show.

Sorry I missed you KU.
I was racing up from Vallejo post-gig (big band swing w/ female vocalist, lotta Xmas tunes).
I had my trumpet in a small soft case, as I don't like to leave it in the car.

The show was FANTASTIC! Wow. Close your eyes, and you are back at a FZ show from the '80s.
Anybody have a set list?

Is there anyone from the wilds of British Columbia hitting the show in Nelson tomorrow night?

They did Montana in Monterey and during one song they broke into Two Tickets to Paradise but changed it to "two tickets to Peeble Beach"...it was obvious from DZ's shit eating grin he had a tee time Sunday...

Our set list seemed different from the ones I have been seeing I am going to see if I can find it...

Yeah. The Eddy Money joke caught us all by surprise!

And who can forget the:
"Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh Stayin' Alive!" part.

We got Montana at the Napa show plus the Eddie Money and Bee Gees jokes. When he referenced the “Two Tickets” thing at first I thought he was going to mention the Camp Fire. I was really tired from the fire and moving and everything else so that kind of diminished my experience a bit. It was a great show though. They had a guest violinist (Jason Crosby maybe?) who played on maybe five songs. His participation made for a particularly interesting King Kong. I bought a souvenir t-shirt that when I tried on at my hotel room after the show the collar immediately ripped out. In my tired condition I was kind of pissed and didn’t really feel like going back to the theater to exchange but convinced myself that that was what I needed to do. When I got back the doors were locked (only people who stuck around to schmooze with the band were in the lobby). Finally I got somebody to open a door but security soon engulfed me. I explained my mission but at first they weren’t having it. I persisted though and insisted I didn’t want my $30 investment to go to waste and one of the security guards allowed me to go back to the merch stand and exchange my faulty shirt for some CDs (they were out of t-shirts my size). I thanked the security guard and got out of there. My advice to the Dweezil camp and any other souvenir t-shirt vendors is to spend a couple dollars more on a quality shirt then raise the overall price accordingly. It’s really a shame because the design for the shirt (front and back) was really cool. I’ve purchased many bulk event t-shirts in my line of work and you can get a high quality shirt with the graphic on it for well under $10.

I don’t think anybody else has mentioned this but Napa also got a speeded up version of Florentine Pogen which Dweezil said was the earliest known version.

Set list courtesy fantastic saxophonist Jamison Smeltz
I liked the version of Florentine Pogen, took me a while to recognize.
Wishe I had stayed for the encore.

Last night in Nelson we got a polka version of T'Mershi Duween and Dweezil introduced Sleep Napkins as an electric Sleep Dirt. The guitar he wanted to use for Torture had technical difficulties so we were denied that one but a helluva show. Itty bitty 400 seat venue with a very enthusiastic crowd.
