Hi there!

I was wondering when CP:III would be made available again either for purchase or able to be streamed on Spotify. When I teach rock or classical music history I like to do a unit on Frank but feel like that album is the "ultimate" expression of his late period and it would be great for my students to be able to access it somehow.

Thanks for all the cool new releases and I hope everyone is well.

Chris Opperman, a.b.d.

I also hope CP3 and all of the other official releases that have seemingly gone out of print will be re-released and made available soon.

Wow, I don't think any of my teachers at uni was preoccupied with availability of the subject matter. It took me ten years to track down Resurrection by Peter Maxwell Davies. And the local sheet music vendor was about to kill my theory teacher for telling all students to get a copy of Vivaldi's 4 Seasons without informing him.

I'd love a CD of CP3, I've only got it digitally unfortunately

I just gave away a couple of years ago, as a gift, an extra sealed copy I bought (quiet expensively), for a musician friend, who can actually enjoy and appreciate the music and concepts in it...

This is back in print as part of the Universal Catalogue, complete with the Barking Pumpkin outer box.

Picked up a copy at my local record store, you should be able to find it anywhere that has a decent Zappa section.

As far as I know this is not back in print. They just sell leftover old stock from 1994 via Universal now. I recently bought a "new" one, because I had to replace my old defective Zappa Records edition. I got a sealed original 1994 US Barking Pumpkin Records edition.

Well, after nearly 20 years of not seeing it in stores, I can buy it at any number of Sunrise Records locations here in Calgary along with the rest of the Zappa catalogue.

I doubt that mystery boxes of leftover stock from 1994 suddenly appeared.

More likely is that Universal is reprinting these but without the cost of changing the original artwork.

No. All CPIII CDs sold now are exactly like the original BP version: https://www.discogs.com/de/Frank-Zappa- ... ase/439907, including this: Matrix / Runout (Disc 1): [Allied Record Company logo] A1093 AF 01-2.1 70 ARC M1 S1 – Matrix / Runout (Disc 2): [Specialty Records Corporation] AF UMRK 01-2.2 SRC@@01 M0S1

Yes. As I said, they are most likely just using the original stampers and artwork. Only releases previously on RYKO have been altered. All other releases (at least the ones I have seen in retail stores) are using the original artwork and matrix numbers.

Universal took over the catalogue in 2012, it's pretty farfetched to think that there was this much existing stock laying around.
