What about the disappearance of the tilte subject line on Freak Out's 'Are You Hung Up? That one really bothers me. It is on the ZFF re release whereas the Rykodisc version has the line intact. Was it originally censored from the vinyl release????

I'm talking about the line don't cum in me....from Are You Hung Up? a song on Freak Out. It is overdubbed/edited out on the latest release I have which I believe was from the Zappa Family Foundation or Trust or something similar.

Are You Hung Up is On We're only in it for the Money, not Freak Out. The "Don't Come in me" line is in "Harry, You're a Beast" (also on WOIIFT$). The line was censored on the origional vinyl. The 1980s CD remix (the one w/ the drum/bass overdubs and Lumpy Gravy on the same disc). restores all the material censored from the origional release, including the "Don't come In Me" bit. When the CD was reissued with a return to the vinyl mix, the censorship returned.

Thanks for clearing that up, I guess I am getting a little senile in my middle age. After working on my Mudshark Tango I will go back and listen to the sources you mentioned, but as I suspected...the return of the censorship of the original vinyl is the annoyance.

I think it's pretty amazing that you have to really listen hard to find mistakes on any of Franks albums! what a great band!

And that song "Ruth Is Sleeping" on Mothermania....that didn't fit at all! It's a mistake, because the original guys didn't even play on it! And.....

Oh...wait....I put the wrong CD in.

My guess is that there were several takes and that was the one that took FZ's fancy for the album.

One of Zappa's simplest and most beautiful pieces...

In the Guitar World cassette liner notes FZ wrote that this was the only complete take from the session.
