With the new deal with UME I would really like to see a series of Zappa bargain boxes of the entire catalog released. Similar to the original albums classics that are being released on many artists with thin cardboard sleeves, no liner notes (maybe a little notebook on the releases could be included), etc. I used to own the entire catalog until hardship, etc. forced me to get rid of it. I would love to get the entire catalog again but it would take me years to be able to afford it all and rebuild the collection with the conventional releases (plus I like a lot of other music besides Zappa). There are 100 official releases right now so that makes the math easy. Either 10 boxes of ten or five boxes of 20 in chronological order. Roughly $5.00 per disc. Obviously some releases are multi-disc sets so the prices would vary somewhat from box to box. I don't do downloads so don't suggest that. Some people may object to the "cheapening" of the catalog and I get that but I would probably go ahead and get "deluxe editions" of my favorite releases anyway. Just an idea.
