Why would some reasonably well done CGI rend something moronic, I am still to understand.

What about great and complex characters, unpredictable story line (at least for those who haven't read the book), cape and sword fantasy, etc?

I admit, I only watched about 1/2 a season of the show, but I got sick of all the explicit sex. Don't get me wrong, I am certainly a fan of porn, but when a show uses so much sex it distracts from the storyline. From the few I watched, it felt like every time I would start to get into the plot line, they throw another graphic scene in. I guess it's about mindset. I have no problem with some sexual scenes in drama, as long as they are an integral part of the story, but when sex scenes happen at a rate that is extremely outside of anything close to what a person would expect to come across in life or even most other tv shows, your show has devolved into nothing more than very cleverly written pornography. It's as distracting as commercials (which I gave up on years ago, as I only watch Netflix now). When I want porn, I have no interest in storyline, and vice versa. Sure, I could just fast forward past the porn, but it seems to me that any show that has to rely so strongly on porn is probably lacking in story anyway. But that's just me.

Hmmmm? Porn you say? Maybe I should check this show out after all. I don't want to see that little guy humping though (not that there's anything wrong with little people humping ).

Oddly enough, I find Peter Dinklage pretty hot....but he doesn't hump anyone, well, there is a bit of foreplay... Yes, there is a LOT of CGI, it takes place before the Middle Ages, right? And if there are dragons involved, yeah, there's no way you can put strings on a plush toy and make people say, "Oooo! Scary dragon!" Please. I will admit this is one of the few shows I watch with any kind of digital enhancement. No interest in Avengers movies, when you know they're standing in front of green screen the ENTIRE time. There are matte paintings, special effects, etc. on GoT, but I get pulled in by the characters and storyline---and I watch on my computer!

i just saw a recent interview clip with pd where he was talking about how he
was walking down the new york city street en route to get his morning/first coffee
(he made it clear that he is out of it until that first joe)
and some woman in passing said to him "i hope you don't die"... referring to GoT.
he said it really threw him for a loop.

Me neither. I've never seen an episode of Mad Men or Sopranos either. I'm not sure what that says about me other than I'm too cheap too subscribe to the premium channels.

I watched the first season and about half of season two and I find it incredibly boring. This is coming from a guy that loves high fantasy and nerdy stuff.
