Long time lurker, first time poster. Ive challenged my sons high school band to play some Zappa in an upcoming concert and have offered a donation to the school if successful. However my googling has not found any available sheet music for rent or purchase that could be used to that purpose. Ive seen a few HS bands out there on the youtube that have successfully done some things but I assume most of those were self written. My wish would be, in the spirit of trying to bring Zappa to the youth today, an officially sanctioned sheet music for high school band of the entire Hot Rats album that could be used for this purpose. Or please enlighten me if something like this already exists.

Woody Herman recorded a big band version of "America Drinks and Goes Home", I'm not sure if that is commercially available.
The Ed Palermo Big Band plays FZ music, you might be able to reach out to him: http://www.palermobigband.com/
Also, Bobby Sanabria recorded an arrangement of "Grand Wazoo" on his "Big Band Urban Folktales" release.
Good Luck!

One possibility is if your school band manager or whatever is good at doing arrangements, you could order the official Hot Rats guitar book on the internet and use that as a guide.

Hello, I just have some free time to prepare materials for our middle school extra-curricular jazz club (will be renewed in September, I hope). So I thought I could ask here too: perhaps someone can recommend free resources where I could find sheet music. I have checked the AlfredMusic's new releases, but the whole package will be too expensive for me.
