Want to get really frustrated? Spend an hour and a half listening to this podcast. This Dean Delray is the worst interviewer I've ever heard. Every time Joe begins to answer a question or tell a story the guy cuts him off and starts talking about himself. He did the same to Dweezil when he was on there. I'm a big fan of Joe and love hearing what he has to say. Unfortunately this guy barely lets him get a word in edge-wise.

Anyway, I highly recommend listening to this if you want to hear Joe almost reveal a bunch of interesting things.

Thanks for the tip. I've listened to several of DelRay's interviews before and sometimes they're ok and others, you're right, he can't stay out of the fucking way. He did one with Keneally couple years ago which turned out ok if I remember correctly.

He might be the salt of the earth but his interview skills blow. Nothing personal.

I'm pretty sure that's Arkay's point ... cocksucker by proxy.

That was actually a pretty entertaining interview but it would have been better if Dean could just talk about half as much (he's such a motor mouth). I do admire his enthusiasm though.

I liked this interview. I've listened to Dean a few times before, and never really objected to his habit of going off on tangents. It's his show and he can do what he wants. Put it in context. Most interviewers come in armed with a few bullet points and know nothing beyond that. Dean does his homework, seems jovial and respectful to the guest, which are qualities rarely seen in most interviewers. You have to be a little bit patient, but I learned some new stuff about and from JT and it was worth it.

^^^Yeah. I enjoy his interviews quite a bit. Of course, it depends on who he's interviewing. You can hear Joe kind of try to get him back on topic a few times which is usually the interviewers job but you can tell he really enjoys what he's doing and has a good background for the kind of people he interviews (rock and roll musicians for the most part).

There's a more recent one with Greg Kihn and Kihn likes to talk just as much as Dean. That was kind of fun. He talks a lot about the Bay Area music scene and backstage encounters with The Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead.
