I'm not sure I have a definite opinion on the French Horn. I've studied a few books on orchestration. It's a very hard instrument to sample and get a decent sound. I don't listen to anything pre late nineteenth century any more, but Schubert wrote some very nice horn work in his unfinished symphony.

You've got that back to front Kirk. It's the professionals that get to ask girls to come on the bus.

Oooo - Chuk-chuk - Buurrrnn!

Yeah KK is a bit of a rambler. A ramblin' kinda guy. R-a-m-b-l-i-n ramblin'. A little too much for my tastes(ahem). But he's our Kap'n. The only one we've got. I will now digress back over to the main subject. 8)

They sound alright. A little tired maybe. Of course, they don't have a Scheila, so...

The best about this is that Tom apparently is getting better. It was my understanding that he was quite ill until recently. Was that just a false rumor?

^ I believe Tom is fighting cancer. If he's on the road that's good news for his health.

@Polydigm
Kirk's OK with me also. 8)

I'm just back from the Duisburg show. It was really great to see these fantastic musicians again. Highlights were Andy, Zomby Woof and Bamboozled by Love 8) I'll post the complete setlist tomorrow. Have to go to bed now ....

He was fighting the big C and it's in remission if not completely gone for now. I'm so happy he's back and playing. It's hard as hell touring if you're seriously sick.
Howie Zowie's Conceptual Continuity show did a telephone interview with him two weeks ago and he sounded like the same old Tom. It's archived on http://www.weru.net in Maine or go to FB or DZW and look up Howie Zowie's Conceptual Continuity show. BTW: He does one of the best and most thoughtful shows about FZ, his music, the player's and the same with DZpZ too. Great stuff! :D

What can I say about the band and the musicians ? Most of them are Ex-Zappa band members. They are still fantastic. It's not possible to point somebody out. Although I enjoyed especially listening to Bobby Martin (Whipping post) and Ray White (You are what you is). The guitar solo in Whippin post was replaced by a stunning organ solo. Dupree's paradise gave everybody a chance for a solo. I liked Tom Fowler's the most. He looked really good by the way. Once Bobby Martin conducted the band in a typical Zappa style. And in the best audience participation tradition they brought a woman from the audience on stage in order to conduct single band members. Quite nice. In the end the audience sang along Peaches 8)

Oh yes, the audience. I'm 52 and I felt really young that evening

Good review Your Name is Fritz. Just one question. If they say along to Peaches, can you show me the lyrics so I can sing along too?
Seriously, I told you you'd have a good time. I'm glad I was right! 8)

They just La la la'd the ending(main) theme KK.

Laa - la la la la la la laa laa
Laa - la la lalalalalala la la la (repeat)

Now you too can sing it at parties and stuff

My 1st thought too because that's what I do everytime I hear it. It does sound like Flo & Eddies voices are used as instruments during the la la la la la, LAAA LAAA, la la la LAAAAAAA, LA la la la la LAA, LAA in peaches. The little la is sung in bass and the big LA is tenor or mix it up and have some fun.
BTW: I was singing this at parties before you were a twinkle in anybodies eye's.

I'm old enough to have listened to it in the seventies. But, I was shy about singing at parties. The ridicule mostly. :)
