Al DiMeola's Elegant Gypsy - Coach House, Sat Sept 16th $40. I wonder if he still has that violin player.

I hear Steve Vai was a special guest at the Canyon Club show Friday night. That would have been sweet.

I see Buckethead's in Sacramento New Year's Eve. Brain's the drummer. I'd be tempted if it was another date. I don't think I really know anybody who'd be into that kind of show and I don't want to fly solo NYE. Would rather stay close to home and hang with family and friends.

Maybe they'll add a Chico show. He's played there before.

Dimeola and Steve Vai together?
It's like salting salt.

The Celebrating David Bowie Tour is coming around next spring. Closest show to me is Santa Rosa on March 4th. I might go but can't commit for a while. Adrian Belew and other Bowie band members are in the band. Unfortunately, no David hologram.

Also, the popular Zeppelin tribute band, Get the Led Out, is performing within walking distance of my apartment this Thursday. I should probably go given the extreme convenience.

I saw them a few years ago. They're pretty good. When I saw them, their thing was recreating the studio versions, hence they don't really do the LZ "look" which is fine by me. Nor did they jam out on Whole or Dazed-they play them like the studio versions. They have two guitar players, some songs maybe three. I remember them sounding great. You should go.

Thanks for the review, I think I will go! I looked again and it's Saturday, not Thursday, so even better.

Bowie fans don't bitch as much plus there's no hologram. He already participated in a Bowie tribute with some of these guys last fall. I think it was just a couple shows though. This time it's maybe 15-20 shows. www.celebratingdavidbowie.com
