You folks have a good ole time tomorrow. The set lists are looking great. Yo Mama seems to be played every other night, as well as Packard Goose.

A band calling themselves the Frankful Dead is playing at a bar in Chico June 3rd. It's some of the members of For the Love of Frank the Zappa tribute band that had some shows with Ike Willis (and on one occasion Ike, Ray White, and Robert Martin) a few years ago combined with some members of a Grateful Dead tribute band playing guess what, Zappa and Dead songs. Not sure if they are going to bring some Zappa flavor to the Dead songs and visa versa or just play things straight. I kind of doubt that I would go but you never know.

What a show!

1st guest - Lisa Loeb on Cosmik Debris(with "You Say" snippet)
2nd - Zane Carney on Pound For A Brown (crazy Telecaster solo)
3rd - Ike Willis of course. On Doreen, You Are What You Is, Yo Mama..........Ike sang on everything!)
4th - Vinnie Colaiuta on Keep It Greasy and then for the finale; Muffin Man.

The band was super tight.
We had a spot in front of Mr. Luther about 8 heads back from the barrier. The venue was full, but not packed.
The band hit the stage around 9:20p and played until midnight!

Earlier when we secured our floor spot, my friend said, "hey, there's Thomas Nordegg(walking towards the backstage entrance w/ some other people)." The other guy turned around and it was Vinnie! They quickly disappeared before it could say hi. I guess Dweezil found out a few seconds later that Vinnie wanted to sit in. DZ stated, during the show, of his surprise.

I like how Dweezil talked about Freak Out! & The Brain Police riffs influence on young consumers. Also, his blue strat sounds very nice.

How did Dweezil introduce Lisa Loeb? Did he reference their past relationship?

No. He just said "our first guest is Lisa Loeb, and we're gonna play Cosmik Debris"

For Vinnie, they actually started KIG and then DZ stopped it after 30 seconds of the riff and said," you know, someone came up to me backstage earlier a said that they could play this song on the drums and.......it's got some difficult beats in there........there's parts where it's in nineteen....... and then like..... twenty-one, so. But we're gonna try him out, so come on up here.......Ladies and gentleman.......Vinnie Colaiuta !
