I like a good redneck joke as much as the next person, but this one about washing your clothes at the crick has been trampled to death. You need some new material bro.

You ever heard of Steve Hughes Maps? Discovered this guy last night.

Just got off the phone with Maps. Their house caught fire this morning. I obviously had to get the short version. It didn't burn completely down, so I don't think they lost everything. It is damaged enough that they can't live there. The Red Cross is putting them up for a few days, and then they do have some other options.

Positive vibes bro!

No. That's not it BBP. He lives in Ohio.

He called me briefly this morning. They obviously have a lot going on. They stayed at his father's house last night. The fire started in the basement. The dryer caught on fire because the exhaust vent was clogged with lint. By the time he got down there, the smoke was too thick to try to put the fire out. In the meantime, his girlfriend had gone out back to call 911. She left the door open knowing the two dogs would follow her out into the yard. Maps went back upstairs and scooped her 83 year old mother up off the couch, and carried her out to safety. Their pet parrot didn't make it. Maps couldn't get back in the house to save him. Even though the house wasn't completely destroyed, the water from the fire department pretty much ruined everything else.

I will update as I find out more. Thanks for the positive vibes!

Fuck, man. It's brutal to lose a pet in a fire. Along with all the other stuff. My heart breaks for Maps and his family.

Johnny, please relay my sympathies.

He's in Ohio ?

Even though I'm not real fond of the guy , there might be something I can do to help him and his family out.
Philo , pass that along and see if he needs any help since I might be closer to him than anyone else here.

thanks

Thanks everybody! I will relay your messages when I talk to him. Tried to call him yesterday, and didn't get an answer. I'll try him this morning. I have an hour between when Mal goes to school, and I leave for work.
