Won't be much sleeping here tonight. The fireworks are going off more than in years past. They are supposed to shut down at 10:00, but that won't happen tonight. But, I'm happy to live in an area where a dumbass redneck can blow his hand off shooting fireworks. The irony of it all is that I work with a guy who is missing a tip of his finger from a firework accident when he was a kid.

That would be a constitutional right wouldn't it Uncle Philo'?

the right to blow off ones extremities with gun powder
(non political bs type statement)

That is correct GG! And, thanks for the disclaimer notifying certain people this was not turning into a political thread. We are merely pointing out ironic situations.

As the denizens of this town scurry off to their various churches, I'm listening to "Sofa" and the smutty Stage 6. Oh, the irony of it all.

One more fucking week, and I'll be heading back to Nashville to pick my son up at the airport. Fuck it, I might just do the happy dance today.

He's 15 now, but I'm pretty sure he was 13 in that picture. I think that was the xmas before he turned 14. His birthday is St Patrick's Day.

Cool! So, can he play that thing? I've actually had my eye on the Dean Michael Schenket V. There's a used one at the Guitar Center where I live for just $180.00.

Yeah. He can play it. 30 minute lesson once a week since he was around 8, plus practicing on his own. He started out on a youth model First Act acoustic. He loves the Dean Dime. We had to re solder the cords on the input jack recently. When it first started fucking up, he was crushed that he might have to get a new guitar. :)

Never fear, you, yes you can repair/replace just about everything on the electric guitars of today Uncle Philo', your son's instrument (bitchin' strap) is no exception.

The internet is full of info regarding just about every aspect of guitar repair...If in doubt everyone here knows everything there is to know about, well everything, so you'll be ok

ps thanks for the info on posting selfies, I thought I was going to have to ask a kid how to do it.......

I'll probably take you up on asking the questions about his guitar. I'm looking to get accessories for it and will need some advice, since I'm not a musician. I recently bought a Boss Metal Zone MT-2 pedal for it, and it seems to mate well with his guitar.

Your welcome on the other. I like to share what little knowledge I have.

Head to Nashville tomorrow to pick up my son. The 5 weeks did seem to fly by this year, once I got past the first week. I want to thank all of you for your support while he was gone. You guys helped make the time go by faster, and I appreciate it more than you know. 8)

Grimpo:
Thought of trying to meet up with you for lunch tomorrow, since his flight arrives at noon. He is going to want to get home, so I nixed that idea. However, we are taking him to see Kiss next Wednesday in Nashville. We have a room at the Holiday Inn right near Bridgestone Arena. We could possibly meet for supper before the concert, or breakfast the next morning. I know that is in the middle of the work week. So if that doesn't work for you, I totally understand. I'm only working Monday and Tuesday next week. I put in vacation days for the rest of the week.

Well played sir. But, I have no intention of eating at the green motel. Just, a place to crash for the night.

The funny thing is if you look back into Plook on Tour, back in 2012 I got food poisoning at the Green Hotel in Houston Texas then traveled to Oklahoma and Dallas, I was almost done when I got to the doctor in Dallas...JPD astutely observed that it was ironic that a guy inviting people to eat when he was traveling got food poisoning...LOL...

Reminds me of the Zappa quote from his book, "The closest I ever came to eating shit was at a Holiday Inn buffet in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 1973".

So, that's what the "Green Hotel" is? Holiday Inn? I never really understood that song 100% other than it being about social class and Republicans vs. Democrats.

I would hate to speak for the composer, especially since he can't clarify. But, Holiday Inn is the only green hotel I know of? That may not have been his intentions for the song. We're basically just joking around, or as Poly would say taking the piss out of it. Remember {Sarcasm Included}.
