The Dixie Dregs, last night, March 16, 2018, at Town Hall, NYC.

Although I've seen Steve Morse several times over the years, last night was my first time seeing the Dregs. Excellent show.

I see them in a month on the other side of the country. I’ve only seen Steve with Deep Purple and that was at least 15 years ago. I’m looking forward to it.

I'm very jealous, as there are no Pacific Northwest dates on this tour...

Saw Buddy Guy tonight. Real enjoyable show and he’s still going strong. Glad I had the chance to see him. He comes off as great of a human being as he is a guitar player.

Just saw the Dixie Dregs at the Vic in Chicago. Awesome show. Between this and the John McLauglin/Jimmy Herring "Meeting of the Spirits" tour, the best shows recently and currently on the road by far.

Saw a few familiar faces that were at Progtoberfest at Reggies last fall. Probably crossed paths with a person or two from here without knowing who each other are.

Alice Cooper and Ace Frehley are teaming up for a summer tour. This is a possibility for me.

I've got my eye on that as well (an eye with dripping black face paint around it).

Grand Sierra Resort in Reno on August 16th. Tix haven't gone on sale yet. He's in San Jose too at the place where we saw ZPZ with Dream Theater but I'm not crazy about that place. The GSR Theater is very nice and the rooms are very reasonable.

My main reasons for going:
Never seen KISS or any member of...
Halo of flies is in AC's setlist.
The Greek Theater is my favorite outdoor venue by far.

You won't be disappointed.

Oh, c'mon. Even my wife loves Alice - something for the whole family.

I'm not much of an Alice Cooper fan, but I'd be remiss if I didn't remind those that are fans that he will be performing the part of King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar tonight, to be simulcast locally, maybe online somewhere?

Ace is only appearing at two shows (LA and LV, methinks). The rest of the tour is just Alice which is fine with me.

Last week I went to a Marty Friedman concert and was very dissapointed. I went partly because a friend of mine (who's a friedman fan) invited me and partly because I dig his playing on Rust in peace. Turns out he played his solo stuff which is boring as hell, and he's also a total clown (he fakes emotions and all of that rubbish).

Going to see Project Object in R.I. on April 21.
They're touring with Napoleon Murphy Brock, Denny Wally and Ike Willis.
The set list will be heavy on the years Nappy and Denny were in the band together, think mid 70's, Bongo Fury era.

Last Friday night I went to see The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra performing a Frank Zappa themed show

They played some pieces by Mozart, Stravinsky and Varèse, which were fantastic, of course the bucket listers for me were Peaches en Regalia, The Dog Breath Variations/Uncle Meat, Revised Music for Guitar and Low-Budget Orchestra and the biggie G-Spot Tornado.....

I had a great time, it was a 10/10 for me.....

I'd had a hell day at work and had driven like a demon through the Friday night traffic to get across town in time for the gig, by the time I got there I was quite wound up and pretty grumpy. When it was over I was totally relaxed and grinning from ear to ear.

Music is the Best.
