Has anyone seen Miles Electric Band? Mostly alumni from Miles' 80s groups, Badal Roy looks like the only recruit from '70s lineups. Miles' nephew Vince Wilburn Jr(drums) got this lineup together recently. Blackbyrd McKnight is one of the guitarists, DJ Logic on soundscapes to name a few. They're playing a free show @ Rochester Jazzfest this Friday. Probably gonna check it out. Just saw The Bad Plus in a small theater there last weekend. The new pianist is awesome. They killed.

King Crimson on July 1st in Berlin. As probably always an astounding three hour concert. Yes, it was a concert. Not a show. No fog, no laser weapons. Simply unbelieveable music and musicianship. The best of what the 21st century has to offer.

Unfortunately there will be no European tour next year because of problems caused by shitty Brexit.

Neil Young was awesome. He played 3 different pianos, pipe organ, I think 3 or 4 guitars, a banjo and ended with ukelele.
Great setlist, imo:

On the Way Home
Homefires
Love Is a Rose
Only Love Can Break Your Heart
Cowgirl in the Sand
Mellow My Mind
Ohio
There's a World
Birds
Are You Ready for the Country?
After the Gold Rush
Tonight's the Night
Speakin' Out
Angry World
Love and War
Peaceful Valley Boulevard
Out on the Weekend
The Needle and the Damage Done
Heart of Gold

Encore:
One of These Days
War of Man
Tumbleweed

Three concerts for me now.

Friday July 20th - Five Points Amphitheater, Irvine, CA
Jeff Beck & Paul Rogers w/ Ann Wilson
Vinnie's back in Jeff's band. Paul is supposed to focus on the Free era of his career. Never seen Heart, so Ann's set should be cool.

Sunday August 12th - Greek Theater, Griffith Park, LA, CA
Alice Cooper w/Ace Frehley

Saturday December 1st - Fonda Theater, Hollywood, CA
Dweezil Zappa Choice Cuts Tour

Got tix for George Clinton at Petrillo Band Shell in Grant Park, Chicago. They are saying it could be a final tour.

I had decided to flag a road trip to the hell hole that is Auckland to see Bob Dylan on August the 26th, and I was just getting comfortable with that decision, when Ms. Auckland advised me yesterday that we now had tickets to Bob Dylan and I would be paying a visit to the hell hole on August 25th, 26th and 27th.....

Radiohead, two weeks ago, Madison Square Garden.

Five stars (highest rating) in every way: performance, sound, lighting, connecting with the audience, etc.

Been trying to see this band for 20 years, but life always managed to get in the way.

A band absolutely on top of their game. In terms of arena rock concerts, the show was right there with the best I've seen, and this old dawg has seen a few. They change-up their setlist nightly, occasionally improvise, and give it all they have. Dare I say my mind was blown several times during the show.

Like the best live bands I've seen, the concert performances surpassed the studio versions.

Most of all, they succeeded in the fact that now I hear their music in greater detail and vivid color, a more intense listening experience than before. If that makes any sense.

Great review and pic Mr. Jar

If Radiohead ever drift on down this way I'll be going.

I'd never paid much attention to Radiohead, then back in June I went along to see/hear the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra perform, among other things, Jonny Greenwood's Suite from the film There Will Be Blood which was pretty impressive. They played some Haydn and a dash of Brian Eno and something by Arvo Pärt, all in all an interesting evening. I've since borrowed A Moon Shaped Pool from my cousin, he's not getting it back.....

Just got tickets to Joe Satriani, performing December 4th.....and the fast approaching Bob Dylan, taking to the stage August 26th.....
