Hey!

Do any of you feel the same as I do about DVD-A?

I can't stand the idea that I HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE DISC ON MY TV SYSTEM! The show (HALLOWEEN) is great, but I long to hear it while driving, while relaxing in my bedroom, etc!

I must make a plea(PLEASE HEAR MY PLEA!)to the FAMILY to ,maybe next time ,include an audio disc copy with the DVD-A in the package, just so we can have our freedom from the TV!

I have been contemplating a CD-R audio copy for use in my travels...you know jack the audio into the burner and Zappo(!) out comes my portable HALLOWEEN. But,if this were a normal CD I'd already be grooving to it in my vehicle,my personal rest chamber, etc!

So,all in all,I think I prefer regular sound CDs of shows just for convenience sake!

WHAT SAY YA'LL ? Come now let's here it from ya! ;D

I think this DVD-A is great. Not being able to play it in a CD player is a major drawback for DVD-A, but if the format catches on that will fix this problem. But I definitely want to see more Zappa DVD-As, perhaps they could finally release all the quad mixes that he supposedly made of his albums. Also, a DVD-A can indeed be played on a regular dvd player. I only have a regular dvd player and have played the whole disc. This is because in addition to the high resolution layer, a DVD-A disc also has a dolby digital layer, and in the case of this disc a dts layer as well, so that you can play it on a regular dvd player before you upgrade to DVD-A. This is the one advantage of DVD-A to SACD, you get surround sound without having to have a new player. But, whether it be DVD-A or SACD, I hope to see more Zappa in surround.

Well, my 'TV System' kicks the ass of my car stereo so I'm happy with the DVD-A format. Although, plain old CD releases are good with me too. As are plain old DVD's. In fact, I'd love to see/hear more Zappa products
in any form. :P

Now,don't get me wrong,I do love the music,...but,I'd love it more to hear it in a car,or in the kitchen,....or at the beach(or where-ever)!

Will DVD-A ever be fitted to mobile devices? The density of info on the discs would probably cause multiple skips in a moving vehicle...unless the player was very shock resistant.

I'd still like the two disc format...one DVD-A,and one AUDIO CD! Then you could listen everywhere!
