i am serious.the song "america drinks & goes home" has a whole lot of musical lines from the simpsons theme song .most notably the very familiar begining (you know da.. da .da. da. da. da.. da da dadadada)its there !!!maybe in a slightly different key.
now the version that is on absolutely free has lyrics & the music is very muddy & poorly mixed so it's hard to hear (but its there).but
the version on the king kong record by Jean-Luc Ponty sounds so much like the simpsons theme its insane.i encourage any1 out there to listen to this track & tell me what you hear.

i also wonder if anyone on here has ever noticed the similarities before
c'mon zappa fans prove me right.the people on the simpsons board say i am crazy & i know i am but this just sounds like the simpsons theme to me

i know all i'm saying is this song sounds alot like the simpsons theme.
did you listen to it at all?have you heard this version?

did you know that when matt groening hired elfman to write the theme he gave him a commercial jingle that zappa wrote & told him to write "something like this"?i've never actually heard the commercial that he gave elfman but i would bet it had some of the same themes that this song has.

yeah its not note for note but it has some similar phrases & the same feel to it.i would be very surprised if danny elfman didnt listen to that song while writing the simpsons theme
