I remember seeing an ancient interview where one of the band, maybe Nick Mason said of this performance that FZ had played the music "correctly" .....

Oh and thanks for sharing.....one and all

Personally I think I can understand FZ's attitude to it and why he decided to deny it. What he was playing was interesting and seems to fit in, but really, it's surplus to requirements. That was a very particular type of Pink Floyd piece, which I like, and his soloing doesn't really go that well with it. I think when you get a mixing of two very distinct talents like that, that the best thing you can do is to try and improvise something completely new for both or do something straight forward and generic like a blues in A or whatever. He seems uncomfortable to me in that video.

It's infinitely better than his performance with Yoko and he never denied that...

Maybe he did really forget this, strange as it sounds...

Around 1999-2000 I attended a Santana (Supernatural) concert, George Thorogood and the Destroyers were the opening band, both performances were excellent.....Toward the end of Santana's set Carlos and a freshly showered suited and booted George attempted an improvised jam, it just didn't work, they persevered for three or four minutes, it ended with George unplugging, unstrapping and backing away making bowing motions in Carlos's direction. Maybe their individual styles were just too different to fuse. The puzzler for me was that that show was almost the last of a truncated world tour, surly these two guys had got together and banged out some tunes before this show.....

I'll be having one of those!

I ordered this today. This gives me an excuse to start digging deeper into Pink Floyd as the only albums of theirs that I've listened to a lot in my life are DSOTM, WYWH, Animals, and the Wall.
