Recently Starz and Showtime had one of their periodic "free" periods...you know, the kind of thing they do to sucker in potential subscribers. Can't remember which one featured it but Eat That Question was part of that channel's line-up. I own the DVD but simply because it was on a fucking cable channel...of any kind...I watched it again cause well...it was Frank.

On the day before ETQ is out on DVD in the UK, Sky Arts will 'premiere' Roxy - The Movie (followed by the Classic Albums documentary).

Originally, I think so but it became apparent quite quickly that it was going to take a lot longer than that.

I’m seriously moved by the last scene of Eat That Question where Frank Conducts “Ionization”. Very deep and meaningful for this life long fan. My first album owned at 5yo was Freak Out And was directed to Verese from there. Thanks Ahmet and crew.

I'm now convinced that this release will never receive a Bluray treatment(was hoping for some bonus features etc.)

Please do correct me if I'm mistaken, otherwise I'll just grab a DVD at some point for the collection.

It wasn't bad but as other fans have mentioned most of the footage is not rare and only about 8mins or so is actually new. Still great to see a Frank Zappa doc coming to screens never the less.

So far however, the DVD "Frank Zappa John, Dan and Me" featuring the Saturday Night Live performances beats this doco simply because it's got Frank in his element and best of all you also get Stockholm Aug 21 1973, Skansen Soundstage tracks as a bonus.

The DVD "Frank Zappa John, Dan and Me" is a crappy bootleg and should be avoided at all costs. Certainly, don't give these crooks a nickel for it.

The Saturday Night Live footage has been released officially in much better quality and the Stockholm footage is available for free in a more complete version and in much better quality than the hot garbage on this illegal DVD.

Received it as a bonus for purchasing a few Zappa books in a bundle so I'm not upset and I didn't have an issue with it. However if there's better quality releases out there, then I'm all for it as I love these performances. Are we talking 'official DVD' or simply downloads from 'the source.'

You can purchase the complete sets of Season 2 & Season 4 of Saturday Night Live for reasonable prices if you look around. Better quality and more complete than anything else out there.

The Stockholm show is available from the usual reliable download site. Don't know it the ZFT has the rights to this, it would be nice to see an official release. An excellent quality edit of Montana was included in 'The Golden Age of Rock and Roll' DVD set many years back, so we know it's out there somewhere.
