a few months ago i was in one of my local record shops here in Glasgow and they had at least two new Zappa DVD's. one of which was all his appearences on Saturday Night Live. being far too busy to watch anything at the time i neglected to buy them but now I want them and i cannot seem to find any information on them at all. anywhere.
does anybody have any idea what these were or where i can get them?
I thought they were official, they looked pretty gopod but i guess not.
its like they never existed.
please help.

Only think I can think of recnetly involving SNL is the SNL First Season Box Set, not aware of any releases specifically concerning Zappa appearances.

There is no official release containing just the Zappa SNL shows.
The Saturday Night Live DVD is available as a Zappateer's download. What you saw was most likely the results of someone downloading that free DVD and selling it for his/her own profit.

This was given to me by a guy a few years back and has the SNL performances on it and an extra feature comprising of the songs Montana, Dupree's Paradise, Farther O'Blivion and Cosmik Debris from the Stockholm 73 concert. Could this be the same one you saw?

Lorne Michaels has said that if it sells well enough, he will seek getting clearances for all the performances in season 2, and I would assume 3 and 4 and so on. So your best bet is to buy this to help out the cause.

I own it and its terrific. Please buy it because next box will have peaches en regalia, im the slime, and purple lagoon, plus frank getting killed by a christmas tree.

SNL has dedicated this week's episode to Prince. While I am more than tired of hearing about him in the last couple days and I was never a fan and the performances are mostly confirming that for me, I will say that he was talented and so far it is cool that they are showing the 40th Anniversary after-party which had Prince jamming. Respect.
