I also had kidney stones from drinking too much coffee. (the urologist told me that was one of my problems along with too much beer and genes)

So yea it's a drug.

Too much beer and genes? What, is that like a stem-cell cocktail?

the Arabs have an expression:'let there always be coffee in your house'

& now in god's name let us now thank the gods of coffeedom for the inspiration for the respective likes of the various products of people such as D.Lynch & F.Zappa-

forgive me-probably that was just the caffeine in my system doing the talking.

I seldom drink coffee and when I do, it's usually a double mocha (perhaps once every 6-8 weeks). For caffiend consumption, I used to be addicted to Mountain Dew. About a 2 liter a day fro when I was a teenager until my late 30s. Not only the caffinated effect by high sugar/carb intake as well. I quit drinking soft drinks about 3 years ago. That stuff is pure poison. I'm surprised and thankful that I haven't become a diabetic and that my hypertension and high blood pressure has decreased despite higher levels of stress.

Now my bevvys of choice are green tea or just plain purified water and occasional *cough* hoppy microbrew ales & stouts.

So yes, I believe caffinated coffee and soft drinks are drugs. I also believe the newest fad of energy drinks are drugs as well.

Coffee is addictive. Since Starbuck's came into being, I've become hooked on the good stuff. Folger's tastes like mud now.

If I don't get coffee, I get a headache, and I drag ass all day. It's the kind of thing you don't know you need until it isn't there.

I wish I never started.
