Top 5 moments in the Tim Curry Q&A:

5:
Q My second question was I'm going to see Rocky Horror live in Toronto for the first time in a few weeks, so what would be your advice to someone going to see it for the first time?
TC Wear a raincoat. And take a bodyguard.

4:(about Hair)
TC It was pretty amazing. It was a wonderful show to do.
CA Did you do London and then tour?
TC I did London, and then I was asked to do Paris because I spoke French, and I wanted to but they wouldn't let me.
CA Because?
TC Because I was too useful in London.
CA It's a nice compliment.
TC Well because so many of the kids in the show would just get doped up to the gills and not show up, that somebody had to go up for them, and I was useful in that respect. I played practically every part except for the black girl who sings White Boys. I really wanted to play her!
CA And you would've killed it too!
TC I would.

3:
TC I actually liked him a lot, Macaulay, and I have a lot of sympathy for child actors. Most of them don't know what the hell they're doing there.
CA It's true. They suffer for it down the road.
TC Yes they do. There was a point in IT, at the beginning of the movie, this little kid called Georgie who was saving his paper boat down the gutter, and it goes down the drain, and Pennywise is in the drain and grabs it and Georgie puts his hand down the rain and I grab it, and I suggest that he joins me and say (as Pennywise) "Down here, we float!" And he stopped and said: (as boy) "Tim..."
"Yeah?"
"You're scaring me!"
I said "Gee, I'm so sorry but that's what I'm supposed to be doing. And you're supposed to be scared. So we're quids in already."
CA You think this child has been in therapy for years since?
TC I hope so. I think he'd need it quite a lot.

2:
I think one of my most memorable lines is one I improvised on Muppet Treasure Island, in which as Long John Silver I was supposed to have had an affair with Miss Piggy. And I have a confrontation with her on this island. And she made some kind of lewd remark about my sabre or my sword, about the length of my sword...
"Well you know Piggy, I always said once you've had pork you never go back." But they cut it. Which really pissed me off.

1:
CA Well you're made for everything... I mean... what haven't you done?
TC I've never been a contortionist, but one day I hope to be!

Honorable mentions go to:
Q I wanted to know if you have any memorable interactions with fans that perhaps come to your mind, if there's any experience (...) that you can think of that might stand out from the rest.
TC One or two death threats which weren't fun. I was actually stalked for quite a long time by a 250-pound transvestite who was on parole for the murder of his lover.
CA Lovely memory.
TC So that's probably the most interesting interaction. Not one that I'd care to repeat...

And:
Like, do you prefer those crazy, over-the-top characters or do you prefer the more subdued roles?
TC I actually want to play a bank clerk, but nobody's given me the opportunity.

CA I think there's an iconic line by Madeline Kahn about flames... Flames!
TC Yes, she improvised that.
CA When she improvised that... sometimes I look at it and I think: did everybody lose it?
TC Yes.
CA Pretty brilliant
TC They had to scrape us off the film, and then it was a difficult editing job.
CA It was brilliant.
TC (as Kahn) Flames!
CA She was mad. Mad as a march hare.
TC She was.

Top 5 things I found in the translating piles of recent:

5 Zappa had a phobia of staircases as a result of his crash landing - Viva 1977

4 The mass member signoff, mass angry letters etc as a result of the VPRO documentary, didn't happen. There were maybe a handful membership cancellations but there were also 300 new members.

3 Theodor Holman, guy I enjoyed disliking, turns out to have interviewed FZ in his youth - at the tender age of 16 he and his pal lugged an ancient tape recorder into his dressing room ( "You probably stole that thing from the Germans during WW2" ) before they discovered that neither one of them spoke a sufficient amount of English to pull off an interview.

2 Remarks on being "authoritary" or "manipulative" were often reacted to by Zappa getting mildly cross: in one Zappa complained on how his physical appearance made people feel repulsed ever since he was eleven:
"First of all (careful!), you surely don't believe that anyone has plans up to and including 1975? If anyone plans to see the Great Manipulator in me, he has to do it and put it in his interview. The word's been dropped five times now, and I don't know about how it works here, but in English we call it "evil linguistic implications". Happy? Fine, I've been invited five times now to confirm this, and I won't. But first, take everything that has been written about the Mothers and has been produced by them, spend a day on it, and I'll assure you that my gifts as manipulator will astound you beyond your wildest dreams.
I just try to be fair and manageable to people. It just won't work. When I was 11, I had a mustache, an overly large nose and I was overweight. My appearance had a strong effect on people, I at least repulsed them but in many cases I caused some alarm. If you go in the rock business, where people are supposed to be pretty, you're ten penalty kicks behind. Add to that that most people have never seen me, let alone spoken to me, and I get at least radioactive."

1 The score of 200 Motels was shown in its early days (1970) to the Hand, or at least three of the five composers of this group with luminaries like Peter Schat, Reinbert de Leeuw and Louis Andriessen. These five would later write a huge opera, Reconstructie, one of the core points in Dutch contemporary art music, with some very Zappa-esque moments in it, to the point that the score reads "played in Mothers Of Invention-style"
