I just finished this new version of Uncle Meat, this time playing it on electric guitar over a regimented harpsichord background.

Okay, I've published my first YouTube video of the first cut of one of my recently fully produced compositions.

Take It Or Leave It

enjoyable composition, poly.
the video is better than most music videos as well.
it (the video) made me ... well, not nervous, but more like "what the!!?",
which i demand from a music video.

thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback. That was a tree in our backyard that just had to go and that lunatic roped in up there, cutting it down, was me.

I find it ironic that your song Turn Around deals with the same type of subject matter that you recently accused me of being evangelical about. Trying to "wake people up" was how you put it. It's a good song/performance and I don't disagree with the sentiment but the irony was not lost on me.

Okay, fair point, the bigger irony, or actual hypocrisy on my behalf, is that my point about evangelism wasn't very clear. I specifically meant it to refer to the way you continually attack Mij and Mr Nice Guy et al. They know who they are in my opinion and are probably basically reasonable people, but DB is fundamentally a reactionary shitbag and I make no apology for saying so and you saying Mij and DB are no different is just bullshit - we'll have to agree to disagree on that. Me singing a song that any one can choose to listen to or not is not the same as you continually targeting, unfairly in my opinion, actual individuals in that Trump thread.

You didn't force me to make this reply, but you decided it was okay to bring this argument into this thread and I've chosen to continue it in this post.

I don't get where you're coming from, but I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my piece and giving me some positive feedback.

Okay, I've been talking about using Echidna's Arf for practice on and off for years now, so I thought it was time I produced a video. I play it solo on the guitar and have never had any intention to produce a full band version, so I've kicked around several ways of playing it, none of which was ever totally satisfying, until I eventually came up with an arrangement for picked classical guitar. I hope someone likes it.

I'm going to send my son in law links to your work, he is starting to get good on the acoustic, when I was there last year I played the guitar solo fro Any Kind of Pain off BWTHW and told him if he could do something like that he would be good...he sent a couple of sound snippets of songs he wrote that he has been working on and it sounded like FZ and XTC had a baby, he has improved greatly.

Nice, Poly! I always thought that that would be a fun one to learn if I had the necessary technique and memorization skills (which I have neither). I remember visiting some online tabs for it a long time ago. I might have to revisit that and see if I can get down just a little bit of the beginning.

Thanks KUIII. I worked out my own transcription ages ago, but it's written in pencil as a normal guitar score. I guess at some point I could type that into my DAW and then convert it to a guitar tab.

I spent a couple of hours last night playing about with it, great fun.....

Unfortunately a failed Dupuytren's contracture operation has left the pinky on my left hand at a 90° angle to the palm and a mind of it's own, I have a little control but the dexterity has largely gone, all in all a pain in the proverbial.....
Around three Months ago I began practicing as a lefty, if you want to make your brain hurt that's how you do it.....

I'm sorry to hear it mate. I've tried playing guitar left handed and it's just ridiculously difficult - way more difficult than I remember when I started as a right hander. How did you damage your finger?
