I found this in a copy of The Real Frank Zappa book I bought off Amazon a couple of weeks ago. I'm the kind of joker who might put a BS inscription if gifting a book to a friend so I'm skeptical - plus it doesn't look like any FZ signature I've seen online.

Doesn't look real to me. Zappa's "F" faced the other way, for one thing. Can't even think of an example of him writing in cursive--he usually wrote in all caps.

I've seen obviously fake Zappa autographs at record shows--including one on the posthumous Cucamonga vinyl release. (When I called the dealer on it, he just said "This is a promo.") But at one record show I picked up a reasonably priced Bizarre copy of Hot Rats that just happened to have what I'm pretty sure is a genuine autograph--only it was faint, like the ink from the marker hadn't sunk into the glossy paper. I bet the dealer hadn't even noticed it.

He had a nephew named Jason (Bob Zappa's son), but I'm kind of skeptical as well. He did go for all caps, as has been stated. He also never signed his name the same way twice, but that's why he went to initials only.

The "newest best friend" bit doesn't sound like Frank either. Not to me, anyway.
