Dark Side Of The Moon- Pink Floyd

By the time Pink Floyd created this unbelievable album, they were ‘over’ their boring LP covers of the past. So, they wanted something smarter, something a bit more abstract. Apparently, the prism cover was chosen as a way of portraying the cleanliness of their music, as well as how diverse it can be.

A bottle of Jack Daniels every month? Pour, poor guys.

They used to say "The Night Belongs to Michelob" but it's rarely mentioned that the following day after a drinking binge belongs to Bayer aspirin, Tums, the local towing company, the bump & paint shop, your lawyer, the police, or even your fellow apartment dwellers who listened to your early morning arguments/singing/shouting.

The winner of the Indy 500 is awarded the sterling silver Borg-Warner Trophy, built in 1935 for $10,000. The trophy today is valued at more than $1 million.

Winners of the Indy 500 don’t just get their name inscribed on the race’s historic Borg-Warner Trophy—they also get their likeness permanently sculpted onto its sterling-silver base.

St. Louis was the site of the demonic possession incident that inspired the book and movie, “The Exorcist.”

When driving up the Alaska Highway, you don’t really see much more than some beautiful wildlife and Canadian scenery. However, somewhere along the way, at Watson Lake, Yukon, you’ll find a stunning compilation of signs and plates from, well, everywhere.

Image

The forest was started in 1942 by a G.I., Carl K. Lindley, who was at Watson Lake on light duty as he was nursing an injury at the time. Homesick, he decided to put up a sign from his hometown up. It read: Danville, Ill. 2835 miles.

Image

It wasn’t long before people who were also feeling homesick decided to add their own signs that pointed in the direction of where they were from. That’s when the ‘forest’ was born.

Image

Today, the forest contains over 100,000 signs and license plates from all over the world. It also spans several acres.

Image

Anybody is more than welcome to add their own signs from wherever they are from. There is no policing of the forest, true to Canadian form, the locals just trust that you aren’t going to mess with it.

Image

Even aliens have left their mark in the forest.

Image

So, if you ever find yourself travelling the Alaskan highway through the Yukon, take a stop, and make your contribution to the ‘sign post forest!’
