^^^ I don't think I've ever heard of a music festival sponsored by a marine science research institute. Very cool...

the bands will keep you dancing all night while Barbarian Productions and Le Moana help you find
the surreal in the everyday with their radically disruptive and playful performances.

To keep you going, the night’s culinary delights will be highlighted with a Surrealist Art-inspired
dessert station by the marvellous Maxine Scheckter of Sugar Flour, while the tantalizing collaboration
between Wooden Spoon and Fortune Favours will leave you floating in the clouds.

Tickets include exclusive after-hours viewing of our unmissable Surrealist Art | He Toi Pohewa exhibition,
all-night access to our food experiences, 2 drinks, games, and entertainment that will keep you amused
all night long.

Tickets are limited. Book today!

This is an R18 evening. There is no assigned table seating for this event.

Ghost Note: The venue Te Papa is the museum of Wellington, so the Surrealist Art - He Toi Pohewa exhibition
is the real deal, as is the food, Sugar Flour Wooden Spoon and Fortune Favours are high end city eateries.....
If myself and the cavettes weren't so crowd averse right now, we would be there in a heart beat or three.....

Gig Information

New dates in August

After an explosive twelve months, Lime Cordiale are headed to New Zealand for their ‘14 Steps To A Better You’ NZ Tour, playing their latest album live this July!

Hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Lime Cordiale – comprising brothers Louis and Oli Leimbach – have been kicking major goals; the band’s sophomore album 14 Steps To A Better You topped the ARIA Album Chart on release in July last year, and was embraced by tastemakers around the world, taking out the coveted J Award for Best Australian Album.

In a watershed moment last year, Lime Cordiale chalked up an incredible eight ARIA Award nominations, making them the most-nominated act of 2020 and landing them their debut ARIA Award for Best Breakthrough Artist. Soon afterward, in January’s triple j Hottest 100 countdown, the band scored an unprecedented five tracks in the top 26, their highest-ranking song ‘On Our Own’ claiming 11th position. The band’s live performance is the stuff of legend.

TOUR INFORMATION

Kia ora from Ōtepoti! Do you like a) surf riffs, b) dancing/ thrashing about, and 3) live bands?
You do?! Well, this town is exporting two of its great bands: Koizilla and Nightlunch, to a bar most likely within driving distance near you.....

Between the two groups they have recorded a Split EP and released on one, double sided vinyl, one side each. The two bands have a long running relationship, and is a great example of the support and love Dunedin bands have for each other, despite being two very distinct bands!

On the one side we have energetic, surfy riffs of joy from the 4-piece-team Koizilla. On the other, a salty array of heavy tones and crunches from the 2-piece meal deal, Night Lunch. It's going to be a really fun tour, a true artisanal music experience.

TOUR INFORMATION

The Beths are thrilled to announce some one off shows (both AA & R18) in Wellington for late October.

After building a loyal following through live performances and their 2016 EP Warm Blood,
The Beths signed to Carpark Records and released the debut album, Future Me Hates Me, in 2018. Jump Rope Gazers, released in July 2020, was a slower, yearning follow-up that still fizzes and sparks with pop-punk sensibilities. Immediately seized on by both fans and music critics as a bright spot during an otherwise dark year, Jump Rope Gazers was named Album of the Year at New Zealand’s national Aotearoa Music Awards in 2020, and secured the band awards for Best Group and Best Alternative Artist for the second year running. The releases catapulted the band straight into lengthy international tours that saw them support legends like The Pixies and Death Cab For Cutie as well as headlining increasingly large shows of their own.

San Fran, Wellington Friday the 29th of October.

CoCA Massey Univercity, Wellington Saturday the 30th of October.

It'll be my first show in a year-and-a-half. They'll be vaccinated and wearing masks, and so will everyone else...
