What about Tony Banks? He's writing and performing orchestral music. I wish he'd play in California.

I thought you lived in Oregon.

^ I do, but if TB toured he'd probably skip over Oregon and I prefer California over Seattle.

Love Tony's playing. Saw him in 1980, 82, 86 and 2007.
Steve Hackett's Roger King has got him down.

That's cool, man. I never got to see him. He's one of a kind. The synth at the end of Entangled is one of my favorite prog rock moments. 1980 means you probably saw them open with Deep in the Motherlode. Plus One For The Vine. Damn. Lucky you!

^After the show on the way to the car, my friend kept saying - They played The Knife! They played The Knife! No mater what I said, he kept saying- They played The Knife!
Great seats too.

1986 highlight was getting the last 9 minutes of Suppers Ready. I jumped out of my seat when Apocalypse in 9/8 started. We were right on Tony's side, but upstairs.

Nice. I had no idea they played part of Supper's Ready in '86. Was it Stuermer or Rutheford on guitar for that one? Makes sense they didn't play it all. Can't replace Hackett on part 3. Not to mention time considerations and audiences expectations.

^Rutherford on bass and 12 string.

They dropped Afterglow from the In The Cage medley for SR apocalypse...

The Abacab show was just ok. Later on that tour('83) they played all of Supper's Ready.

My appreciation and thanks to everyone at the Classic Rock Society for my best guitarist award. I admire them for helping and encouraging many new bands and solo artists over the years. A big thank you too from myself for all their support.
Warmest wishes,
Steve

Steve Hackett's show in LA was great back in October.

The Battle..... was the highlight of the evening. From Vancouver - https://youtu.be/TU6cRP7ZrQc

I saw the San Francisco show, the last of the tour. Fantastic. I've never seen Hackett solo before (I did see him with Genesis in '77). And yeah, "Battle of Epping Forest" is my favorite track from my favorite Genesis album, so that was stunning. Nad Sylvan did a great job, too, sounded a lot like Gabriel.

Amazing show. Me and the better half had V.I.P. We had a chat with Steve and he was just a very nice guy.
