Phil may return in 2016

AC/DC wish to clarify it's full support of long term member Phil Rudd during his current personal battles. AC/DC stand fully behind Phil in his bid to get himself well again in time for next years Rock Or Bust world tour second leg.

Angus said 'at no point have we ditched Phil or felt he's out of the band, far from it. He's as much a part of this band as me, Cliff or Brian. More than that we all fully understand he's a key ingredient musically in what has made this band tick for the past 40 years or so. As a band, we AC/DC stuck behind both Bon and Malcolm during their respective addiction issues and Phil is the same. The current world tour is going well, and our hired hand, ex drummer Chris Slade is doing his best to fill the void left by the Rudd's great swing. However we all acknowledge that things aren't quite the same without Phil (and of course Mal) but it was either carry on as we are now or wait until next year and we all thought that would be too late to promote the new album'

Angus went on to confirm dates for 2016 would be announced in the coming weeks and that 'we sure hope Phil will be along for the ride' and that they will let Chris go back to his timeline with great thanks for his efforts. Brian also promised that in 2016 he will tone down the onstage mincing claiming 'I just cannae stop meself mincing around like Dale Winton at a hoist club right now, but having watched back gig footage it is fair to say i'm coming across camper than a row of pink tents'

Thanks for posting. I like hearing this.

Over The Top Fucking Amazing Concert from AC/DC last night. Very loud and out of control. People were losing their minds!

These photos were not taken from my seat. I moved in a few sections to get a better angle, and I never got kicked out. The aisles were about ten feet wide, so the security let you stand outside of the seats, a little. They were totally cool as long as you had the black wristband for the floor sections!

This was definitely my best stadium concert ever. 21 Gun Salute to AC/DC!

The other fire shot. I didn't know how close I was until they lit up. There were about 6 rows in from of me. I hope nobody got singed.

AC/DC had the honour of being the last rock band to perform at Athletic Park in Wellington way back in November 1991 on their Razors Edge Tour...They broke the Wellington City Council noise restrictions and curfew (by six or seven minutes) it was a fantastic concert....As the fans left the park at the end of the show several intoxicated individuals destroyed, among other things a letter box belonging to the president of the Berhampore Residents Association and urinated in his garden.
This fine upstanding gentleman lobbied the council regarding this wanton act of vandalism and breach of city council bylaws, and as a result Athletic Park as a rock venue was no more........

The Westpac Stadium, venue for the upcoming AC/DC concert is located at the other end of the city which unfortunately is on the door step of the rich and powerful Wadestown Residents Association and as such is restricted to three concerts per year and is under the watchful eye of the fun police as far as decibels and curfews etc. The surrounding area has a total booze ban, and the drink drive limits have recently been lowered so that if you have been in the same room as an open alcoholic beverage you had better not even think of getting behind the wheel.....As far as I'm aware there will be booze sold at the venue, but there will be restrictions on how many plastic cups of beer an individual will be allowed to purchase at any one time. In the past they have used a wrist band system, every time you buy a drink they clip your wrist band, so you end up being limited to ten "cups" of beer for the night.......As I am the designated driver none of this fun police shit will effect me.

I've just finished watching AC/DC Live at River Plate, Argentina 2011.......Wow I can't wait to see 'em here in December....Sadly Phil Rudd won't make it, he's still on home detentsion.

PS It's Auckland that is the hell hole, Wellinton is just a lightly shaved armpit....

I didn't realise AC/DC were performing in Auckland too.....the poor bastards.....having said that I'm tempted to go, as they are playing Western Springs which is an outdoor venue that I've attended many a great concert at in years gone by....ZZ Top, Genesis, Pink Floyd (D Gilmour version) and not only but also Alice Cooper to name a few.......

I'm so glad I did the double header, for the Wellington show I was tucked away in the members lounge, which was a nice experience but not very rock'n'roll. For the Auckland show I was down on the field fist pumping with the kids....Extreamly rock'n'roll.....

That gap between 2/29 and 3/8 could be filled with a stop in Omaha. Or are those dates going to be the only ones?

I did read about Brian's hearing Philo', but not his alleged dismissal.

I had assumed that the application of some decent earplugs was going to protect Brian's ears from further damage......baaaaad news if it's true.
