Walt Disney was such an interesting character, there was no reason for this film to fall as flat as it did. I think part of the problem here is that a Walt Disney bio shouldn't have been produced by Disney itself. They have too much at stake to show Mr. Disney for who he really was. The fact that they cut ALL smoking out of this film when Disney was a well known chain smoker goes to show that accuracy wasn't their intent. Maybe someone will make a REAL Walt Disney biopic someday...

well, there was one short scene where he put out a cigarette. he was sitting in his office and I think his secretary came in and tom hanks said something like; "I told you I don't want anyone see me smoking".
but, yeah, that was the only reference to disney being a smoker in the whole film.

I agree with your assessment, this show started out really strong and the longer is was on the worse it got.

I'm not much for musicals but this was quite good, funny lyrics, catchy tunes, very flashy, and I guess I liked it... :o

I'm not much for musicals either. I think the only one I've seen that I enjoyed was The Producers. How does it hold up to that film?
