I agree with your assessment. This film had so much potential and ended up falling kinda flat. I wonder how the book is...

the story seems a little bit far-fetched (and, yes, we know it's based on an award winning novel).

elisabeth moss is good in the leading role and it's all well done (maybe a little bit low-budget, though).

it just didn't work for us. but, ok, I guess we can give it two pumpkins (it's not terribly bad..., there are a whole lot of much worse shows out there). 8) 8)

now, this is a great movie. great story, great directing, editing and all that good stuff.

and, jake gyllenhaal is just amazingly good.

definitely four pumpkins.

of course, I've seen this movie before. I'm a big fan of thomas harris and the hannibal lecter novels.

and, while red dragon is not as good as silence of the lambs,
I will still give this one four pumpkins, just because of anthony hopkins.
