I actually got this a couple of years ago, and haven't watched it in about a year, but what the hey...

This DVD is the best intro to understand the wonderful and frightening world of the California DIY scene in the 1980s, and specifically, the amazing musical journey of THE MINUTEMEN. 4th greatest band of ALL TIME.

OMG! I want this DVD sooo much
I just adore Mike Watt, and all his bands

tell me is the DVD good? any songs or just documentary?

You will not be disappointed. The 2nd disc has about 3 different complete concerts on it, and the documentary itself has plenty of commentary from very appropriate individuals (practically everyone from the SST scene, including Watt and Geo Hurley). There's even an interview with the whole band including D.Boon.

Yeah, that fucking DVD is amazing, had it since it hit the shelves. Also worth checking out is the "American Hardcore" DVD, I got it used. About 75% of it is awesome - Flipper, the SST bands, Bad Brains. The sucky part is the crappy 2nd gen Boston/NYC bands towards the end who rode the coattails of the original hardcore bands.

I can't believe how great the Metalocalypse series is. I'm pretty much out of the loop with what's on cable these days. I heard about the tour coming and figured it would be worth checking out on DVD. Glad I did. Best cartoon since Beavis & Butthead. Yeah, that Bluesklok show is the best. They learn the blues, play a jamfest and end up killing half the audience. :D

Home sick from work today (see "what happened to you today" thread for a laugh), put on my favorite movie of all time, The Big Lebowski. My wife recently got me a "fan book" about this movie, so I decided to check it out again after not seeing it for a few years, and see some stuff I missed the first 20 times. Quite simply, a masterpiece.

My favorite line today: "Just because we're bereaved doesn't make us SAPS!!"

Ah, yes. The Dude abides! I love The Dude and Walter too. As a matter of fact, it kind of ruined Iron Man for me because I kept seeing glimpses of the Dude every time Jeff Bridges was on screen.

I'm not a Yes fanatic by any means, but I love the hell out of this DVD. It's Yes on their "Magnification" tour in the early 2000s, playing with a young, very enthusiastic orchestra. The rest of the band seems to be having a ton of fun too, and they effortlessly play old classics like "Close to the Edge" and "Gates of Delirium" rearranged for orchestral accompaniment, as well as some new stuff that's of quite high quality as well. Sound and camera work are superb.

Yes - Symphonic Live
