I spent a good part of an hour sorting out what exactly are Vivaldi concertos composed for the Dresden court. There are more than 30. The confusion comes about as the concertos are also labeled as Per Pisendel. The court composer and violinist in Dresden who got his employer to buy the Vivaldi manuscripts.

A couple of years ago I sold a box of cassettes at a yard sale for $20, there had to be at least 300 if not more in there, i was still making my own mixed tapes up until 10 years ago...the guy that got it looked like he found a gold mine...

Have not figured out our finances for 2020 yet. Anyway, my SSD* was acting up again in December, and I have to take extreme measures. I will stop ordering stuff on the Internet, unless it is a replacement for something that broke. I took 200 dollars out in cash and will spend that locally. I will pay groceries gas and all with a card. The 200 is to last a while on optional purchases, including food, coffee etc (where I could just drive home and make a sandwich). Books, music, entertainment. I have to now go to a store and buy it. The click click basket click shopping is too easy.

SSD= seasonal shopping disorder, when you are stuck at home too many days in a row due to weather

On top of that, my wife went out in the cold to a meeting and got a flat tire on the car we are selling. I had to go there and use the winch to lower the SUV tire, change to mini spare and all that. In poor light at 5PM, temps at about 10F. If it is a valve, it can be fixed, otherwise, two new tires. The tires are the older pair on the car. The other two are a year old. why can't you get a flat on the tire that still has warranty?

This tire situation is pretty standard. The warranty typically covers a basic tire patch. So if you run over a nail on the road and it goes through the thread of the tire it can be easily repaired with a patch. However, if the side wall or other part of the tire has been damaged it really isn't fixable. If they tried to patch the tire on the side wall or near the bead it wouldn't last, and this is why you have to get a whole new tire. Hope this answers your question.

Yeah the tire was shot. I got some prorated warranty $$ from it.

I may have sold the car. Price agreed on. Buyer talking to his son. It is 13 years old and needs some repairs, but can be driven as is for months, a year?

Make no representations on a 13 year old car more than "As Is"... :smoke:

OK

Well the car is sold. I'm not looking forward to future decades, where every transaction like this is a scam. So you have to hire middlemen to do every transaction except marriage. They will also sell you "insurance" for whatever transaction you are doing.

But in today-world I just took the plates off the car and gave him the keys.

The buyer is now equipped with the entire stack of service papers I gave him as the last bargaining chip when he was trying to get something more (he got two brand new tires). He has called me once, I did not answer. He apparently does not know the phrase caveat emptor. He will just have to take me to small claims court if there is anything more. My mechanic told me the car was in fine shape for a car with a quarter million miles on it, but we did not advertise it that way.

I have put the phone on "do not disturb" mode, so only my contacts can call. All others go to voice mail. If he starts texting I will have to block him.

I gave my first class to the seniors and "humans and dna." I use a film that does not get too technical with the DNA.
The second class next week gets a little technical. I summarize the Matt Ridley book Genome. Also a bit of ancestry DNA and what we know of haplogroups in Europe. The third day is a film, covers all populations.

Senior classes, non credit. I'm revealing my location here, finally, but the catalog and description of the program is here.

https://olli.unl.edu/

It is actually nation wide, so the universities listed here particiapate.

That's my location too. (Well, about 50 miles east.)

Do you have a recommendation on getting my DNA tested through Ancestry or one of the other services? I've been tempted to do something for years. It would probably help clear up some genealogic research, but I'm not too sure on the privacy concerns.

Yeah, that part I don't know. I think they get to keep your data, so they will in fact find relatives. They can't force relatives to meet, they contact both.

Also, in future, health scans will be tricky in US health care. Unless health insurance becomes medicare for all. Once tested, you know some risks.

I would not have much use for the ancestry for me, as it will come out over 90% Finnish.

I found out a great uncle of mine came home to find his wife with another man. He threw the guy out, who proceeded to go get his shotgun and kill my g-uncle.
