Sprang into action by removing someones empty plastic trashcan which blew into the busy road. Today was a good day not to die or become injured

Good job!

On the way back home from BF. He'd been away for more than a week and had the heater turned off - when we first arrived at his bedroom, it was 14 deg C (57.2F) and for some reason we couldn't get the temp over 60 degs. So basically we've spent the entire visit freezing cold.

It's been a snowy day in most of Northern Europe. Most of The Netherlands suffered Code Red level weather, leaving people stranded at the airports and stations - planes aren't flying, buses aren't riding, if you need to be out there, you're stuck.

Some people were lucky though and could score very cheap tickets to The Prodigy, who perform in Tilburg tonight.

Did they just lump a Bruce Springsteen show from 2006 in with the Zappa 1977 Halloween shows and the Dead's 1977 Cornell University gig?

Somebody has lost perspective.

Truth be told I was getting over a bad cold this week so was not in very good shape. But still pisses me off.

I was told to "have a great day."

That puts all the pressure on me.

Aw bud...
I wish I shot that well at archery. I loved archery as a kid, it looked so beautiful... I loved Robin Hood and indians and I had this little bow and arrow...
Yet I got to shoot on only three occasions - one when I was eleven and shot so poorly I wasn't even given an invitation to the archery club (which was the point of the exercise, to get more people to join...)
Once at the funfair, which was very expensive, the bow was way too heavy to handle... missed all arrows...
And once, finally with a good sporting chance at the open-air museum. I learnt you shoot by what your dominant eye is, not by what your dominant hand is. I'm right-handed but left-eyed and so I had to shoot left-handed.

... Let's just say, nobody got injured.

Since then I've made a little bow and arrow set out of food skewers, duct tape and dental floss. Aim is lousy but it gives me a chance to pine over being so sucky at everything.

Two suspects have been arrested in this case now...

Lead suspect was sentenced to 22 years in prison (18 for the murder and 4 for attempted murder on the same person) and his girlfriend got 6 years.

Whenever I hear of a former classmate dying, I put a big X on their yearbook photo. Not out as some sort of ghoulish past-time, but I do like to keep up on current events and it is a way to distinguish the living from the dead. Perhaps we'll all put 1K each into a fund for whoever is the final survivor out of 300, winner wins all. Also helps me from committing some social error if I should happen to run into someone in public. I'll have to use a different colored marker for those who spend time incarcerated.
MB-"So, have you spoken to (____) lately?
MB's former classmate- "Haven't you heard, she died ten years ago in a gardening accident." Ooopsie daisy!

Classmate isn't incarcerated. Classmate is dead.
He was a hoodlum involved in drug deals etc, he did do time for armed robbery for instance.

Well, it's good to know I'm not the biggest loser that school produced!
