Yeah, well.....Jul 20, 2017 - Ontario has had the fastest-rising electricity prices and its city dwellers paid some of the highest hydro bills in Canada over the past decade.

I read about that yeah. Also the over 30% rise in house prices in some neighbourhoods of T.O.. Guess you'll have to move to Québec. Cheap electricity, and the women are hotter than in Ontario....N'est-ce pas MIJ.

NZ has it's elections on September 23rd, being an impatient old bugger I went in today to beat the rush and cast an early special vote. The polling booth I visited is located in the foyer of a suburban library. While I was going through the identification process, an embarrassed mother was attempting to calm her threeish year old child that was laying on the floor in full tantrum mode and refusing to leave the library. Mum gave the wee one the count down "if your not in your pram by the count of three you won't be getting any Christmas presents, will she Santa" the child was silent and instantly in the pram.....As they trundled past I heard the little girl said something along the lines of "I'll be a good girl Santa", the electoral officer chuckled, I looked up and realized she was talking to me, I was Santa Claus  .....

Around November last year I changed job's, moving from a front line "in the public eye" position to more of a backroom role, where my appearance is of no ones concern but my own. Grooming ceased around December 1st 2016, my hair's gotten good in the back  and in that time, while I wasn't looking, the beard has gone from a short goatee to.....a medium neck tie obscuring Santa.....and the whole arrangement is snow white.....If I live long enough to retire, I may be able to supplement my income as a department store Santa.

Just think of the time you're saving by not shaving or getting your hair cut every 4 weeks. 10min per day X 365 (if for the sake of argument, you shaved on the weekends too) is about 61hrs. of time not spent on hair removal each year. Not bad.

I've lived here for over 40 years. I can drive anywhere around here with my eyes closed.

Maybe I'll nip over to Mexico, or perhaps India, and have it done. No waiting!

France? They even give liver transplants to US citizens for free, so I'm sure they'll stretch to eyes.
Seriously though, look after yourself and I hope you can solve "the problem" soon.

went to the ER, they said I have bell's palsy, a hopefully temporary paralysis of one side of the face.
they gave me steroids and an anti-viral.
The left side of my mouth doesn't work - I can't control it, I can't whistle, it's hard to eat without drooling,
and my left eyelid won't close on its own without external pressure.
Not a stroke, which is good. An annoyance that may be with me for some days, definitely.
Long term effects aren't likely.

That's very frightening, but I'm sure glad it's not a stroke!

I've known a couple of people that had Bell's Palsy and they made good recoveries. Good luck with yours.
