I think FZs lyrics were similar to Spike Milligans writings.
Some profund and contentious stuff buried amongst the purposefully stylised nonsense - thats a good thing BTW.
I reckon that few ideas were ever wasted too.

I think FZ's lyrics were like herpondrophites strangled in feathered.

Agreed!!! :smoke:

I am not sure that deciphering the meaning of anything in Frank's words, gets you anywhere. What is there to discuss about ... let's go to montana soon ... or anything else ... it's what used to be called "anti-art" by being direct and intentionally letting you know what the lyrics are about ... because there are strange folks out there that are smoking some :P stuff and they still think that the world is hiding meanings from them!

It's very straight forward and to the point ... and Spike Milligan is even tougher than Frank on that, albeit he didn't have to use the bad language at all ... but his books with the war stories tell you why he is so crazy and dedicated to his insanity.

I think that Frank had a lot more bones to pick and a lot more angers from his teens and other stuff ... that ended up going backwards and sideways in what appears to be bad ways ... although I do not see them that way at all!

I think FZ's lyrics were largely to fill space in his music

...and no less genius at times.
