That's a real sad one. I always loved "Black Hole Sun".
As for Ailes, I hope he rots in hell, being forced to watch "Hannity" in an endless loop.

I heard he hung himself. Apparently, his wife sent a family friend to check on him in his hotel in Detroit and they found him dead on the bathroom floor with a noose around his neck.
I saw him once, riding his bicycle in the Hollywood Hills. We pulled up right next to him, us on our motorcycle and he was right next to me on his bike sitting at stop light. Shitty, this isn't the news I was expecting to hear on the 5 am news today.

Wow... saw him live in 2013...

I used to play Road Rash! on a daily basis just to listen to Kickstand. Only had a demo so I didn't know what band it was. I found out years later when my sister bought Superunknown.

with a noose.

Other reports are saying exercise band. The M.E. knows for sure. This may seem like splitting hairs, yet it shows the desperate need for reaching for whatever is nearby. A noose takes time to fashion and is usually related to death by instant neck-break from a drop, not strangulation which is longer and much more torturous to the individual. Ironically,in the physical struggle of his death, he may have had a moment of clarity as his windpipe was being closed that he actually wanted to live but there was no way of reversing what was set into motion. Saw Soundgarden in '92 during Lollapolloza. Helluva show! Helluva loss!

Dina Merrill, an actress best-known for several supporting roles she played on TV during the sixties and seventies.

Here she's in an episode of Batman, playing "Calamity Jan" opposite Cliff Robertson's character "Shame."

She was 93, and died of Lewy body dementia (the same disease that led Robin Williams to commit suicide).
Image
But her life was notable for reasons that had nothing to do with acting. She was the daughter of Marjorie Merriweather Post, owner of General Foods and daughter of C.W. Post. When Marjorie died in 1973, Dina inherited her $5 billion fortune.

Marjorie left her second home - an estate in Palm Beach Florida - to the US Government. Her idea was that it could be a place where the President could vacation during the Winter. She called it Mar-a-Lago. But for reasons of logistics and expense, Mar-a-Lago was found to be unsuitable for a winter White House. So in 1981, Mar-a-Lago was deeded back to Dina Merrill.

In 1985, Merrill sold the property to Donald Trump, who is currently using it as the Winter White House.

(The logistics and expense problems have not been solved)...

^ This might explain why I listened to Melissa 3 times in a row on Thursday in my car. The original with Duane once and the EAP version twice. It's been a long time since I've done that. Only 2 original AB's left.

Here's the original Melissa with Duane...

Great story, thanks! In addition, the outdoor concert amphitheater Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, is named for her mom.
