The word is that TR played Camarillo Brillo last night in Pennsylvania!

edit: Listening now! :)

He messed with the lyrics more than a bit, but its fun. Gonna hafta check this out on something other than a cell-phone.

Another edit: I can't find a setlist yet, but he also performed The Beatles' I Want You (She's So Heavy)

 He used Brillo as a Trump bashing vehicle. Disco Boy will love it.

Cool, we don't hear much of Treatise live! :)

He also played "Brand New Key" by Katharine McPhee

From FB:

Great show tonight in Portland. (Especially funny when Todd ranted about voting and said "if you didn't vote in 2016, the stain that's happening right now to our country is on you"....the Trumper couple in the second row, right in front of us, jumped up, angrily yelled "FUCK YOU!" at Todd, middle fingers extended, and stormed out....at the end of Walls Came Down, Todd looked in the direction they exited and yelled "like I said at the beginning NO REFUNDS!" to wild laughter and applause.)

Me and the Mrs had a great night at unpredictable.

Short drive, good free parking, nice venue.
Todd sounded superb, and the band was very tight.

The house announcer spoke to the crown before hand, no dancing in the isles, no streaming data, no recording video yada yada

Not sure what they opened with, I think there was a song playing on the house speakers, and Todd and the band played along with it and did a verse and a chorus, then at the end Todd said into the mic, you all listened to one song.....no refunds. Then they did "Black and White"
Todd shared with the audience that the band doesn't bring a stool from show to show with them, and use a stool provided by the venue. He said the stool was an awkward height that would make it look he is standing all night but he wasn't and that the stool provided no padding.

I ignored the venue rules and recorded the band performing "96 Tears" but paused the recording in the middle, and resumed recording. So I need to stitch these 2 videos together before I upload it. Oh yeah the band did "96 Tears" per haps this was the 60's song that replaced "Incense Peppermints" in past setlists.
They also did Chantilly Lace, and I Want You (she's so heavy).
Another time I thought I hit record, but was holding up my phone without it recording while I thought it was recording.

They did 20 plus songs, to a crowd that I would consider mostly void of energy (which is a shame). East Greenwich is an affluent neighborhood, perhaps the concert goers were too uptight.

The Mrs. was a bit let down (I guess I was too a tiny bit) that Todd did not break out any of his big recognizable "hits" with the exception of "I saw the light" which he did bosa nova style Love of a Common Man and A Dream goes on Forever. She was really let down actually, but the next morning she was able to look past that detail, and recognize that she witnessed something special.

I saw a $35 high quality manufactured tshirt, that I just had to have, so I picked that up, and programs featuring Todd on the cover were handed out, I grabbed a pile after the show was over, and used the cover as a tiny poster in my basement workshop.

Good stuff

Sounds like you had a good time! I watched some of the Daryl's House show last night on FB, very cool. It's still linked on FB, so look it up if ya like.

Otherwise, yes, I know I posted it on the Trump thread, but its gotta be posted here too...

For anyone who hasn't yet heard TR's cover of Camarillo Brillo...

Mar-a-Lago Brillo - Todd Rundgren

He had that Mar-a-Lago brillo
And rolled it all around his head
I mean that pumpkin cappuccino
The wind left hanging by a thread

He ruled the trolls of West Virginia
And every cook in Idaho
And any dick with the opinion
That the brownies have to go

He said he was a stable genius
The smartest jackass in the barn
And if small hands mean a small penis
He made sure that is not a yarn

He had a dick for a veep
And the power to tweet
And he selected a dwarf
To be lawyer-in-chief

He had Velveeta skin
A shit-eating grin
I said he wasn't quite right
And just where to begin?

Where do I begin?

And so he bumbled through the campaign
Like some Russian-backed poltroon
He drove the frightened whities insane
And they just loved the fat buffoon

And so they pushed the bounds of evil
And then they shouted down the vets
And like some hate-turd rolling weevil
He bundled up their ignorance

He shed the very definition
Of what rancid used to mean
Now Putin gets into position
To fuck up our 2018

He had a snake for a veep
And the power to tweet
And he selected a dwarf
To be lawyer-in-chief

He had Velveeta skin
A shit-eating grin
I said he wasn't quite right
And just where to begin?

Where do I begin?

Where do you begin with an
evil, lying, racist, misogynist, narcissistic,
sociopathic, cowardly, incompetent, traitorous, disloyal,
fat, balding, short-fingered, sack of moron?

To all down under-

TR Australian tour, Oct. 25th-31st 2018.

I wouldn't think that Todd will play all those covers at these shows. It has to be more of a greatest hits tour for the Aussies.

Great news! thanks for the link. I have all of Bill's valiant efforts and love them fondly. "Has Been" with "I can't get behind that!" has Adrian Belew on guitar. Its a killer!

Which songs? Of course strong ties with both groups, Todd being frontman for the New Cars with Prairie Prince, Elliott Easton and Greg Hawkes plus having Greg and obviously Prairie in some of his bands and producing Remote Control and Love Bomb for the Tubes.

Looks like Kasim's Utopia will do some east coast dates next year.
Kasim, Jessie, Gil and Andy Ascolese on drums. Andy's a multi instrumentalist and has worked with B.O.C. in the past.
