Hi folks, i saw this on the progressive ears -board:

On the evening of October 5, 2004 at 7:00 PM, The Original Long Island Drum Center will be presenting a big double-bill drum clinic at Five Towns College (305 North Service Rd., Dix Hills NY 11746). This show will feature two of the most amazing and creative drummers ever - Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Allan Holdsworth, Men At Work) and Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, U.K., Missing Persons, Jeff Beck).

These two highly engaging and knowledgeable artists will each present their unique insights into the art of drumming. And to top it all off, there will be an amazing head-to-head drum "duet"! This is an event no drumming enthusiast will want to miss.

Tickets will be $12.00 advance sale. Please be aware - there will be only 550 seats sold for this event, and it will be a certain sell-out. I always liked...

Jimmy Chamberland (Smashing Pumpkins)

Chester Thompson (He lives in Nashville and gives drums lessons and Forks Drum Closet, though I'm a tad intimidated to study under him)

Clyde Stubblefield (JB's Funky Drummer)
Bernard Purdie
Brain
Cobham
B-O-Z-Z-I-O!
Bonham
Moon
Hell, I even admire Meg White...while most people write her off as a no talent hack...I find it true that sometimes Less is More. Tasty Tasty beats...

*Phew*

I already replied here, but I'll do so again.

some good modern rock drummers.

Jimmy Chamberlin (Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan) his soloing is very powerful and awesome, yet he has the ability to play moods and simply pound the skins, something unusual in rock drummers. he's all about technique.

Michael Lowry (Lake Trout) his live drumming is amazing. very fast, break-WRIST-speed hi-hat piccollo snare work.

Birdstuff (Man or Astroman?) surf drums. 'nuff said.

Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth)

how about punk drummers? I'd say Earl Hudson from Bad Brains.
Without a doubt, Im totally in agreement with Carter Beauford, John Bonham and Stewart Copeland. Carter Beauford is amazing, I don't think anyone beats him in my opinion. Chad Wackerman is also amazing as is Terry Bozio. Oh what greats!!
And let's not forget the late great Buddy Rich!!!!
