Tes allégories amusantes nous on alerté
de l'épouvante dont tu étais habité
nous sommes venu te voir dans la nuit
pour guérir ton esprit

tu as le droit de dire
tes souffrances et défoulements
quand tu vas partir rien ne restera
tu as dit la vérité c'était noble
mais on savait tout ca

tu as rêvé dans le néant
c'est la que tu vas finir
tu y sera heureux la-bas
comme dans tes souvenirs

je te le dis, je te connais
si on vient te chercher
tu vas fuire je le sais

l'épice de la vie ne
coule pas dans ton sang
mais ton coeur est
celui d'un enfant

nous sommes les guerriers du future
du passé et du présent
nous ne tranchons pas les gorges
mais tuons les esprits maléfiques

des hommes qui ont créés les guerres
et fait perdre du temps
a notre cause magnifique

l'heure est venu pour les grands
de prendre soin de la destiné
tu ne peux rien y faire
admire tu sera épargné

My God, It's Full of Stars part 5 (Tracy K Smith)

When my father worked on the Hubble Telescope, he said
They operated like surgeons: scrubbed and sheathed
In papery green, the room a clean cold, a bright white.

He’d read Larry Niven at home, and drink scotch on the rocks,
His eyes exhausted and pink. These were the Reagan years,
When we lived with our finger on The Button and struggled

To view our enemies as children. My father spent whole seasons
Bowing before the oracle-eye, hungry for what it would find.
His face lit-up whenever anyone asked, and his arms would rise

As if he were weightless, perfectly at ease in the never-ending
Night of space. On the ground, we tied postcards to balloons
For peace. Prince Charles married Lady Di. Rock Hudson died.

We learned new words for things. The decade changed.

The first few pictures came back blurred, and I felt ashamed
For all the cheerful engineers, my father and his tribe. The second time,
The optics jibed. We saw to the edge of all there is—

So brutal and alive it seemed to comprehend us back.

The Darkness of Human Life (Semonides)

My child, deep-thundering Zeus controls the end
of all that is, disposing as he wills.
We who are mortals have no mind; we live like cattle,
day to day, knowing nothing of god’s plans
to end each one of us. Yet we are fed
by hope and faith to dream impossible plans.
Some wait for a day to come, others watch
the turning of years. No one among the mortals feels
so broken as not to hope in coming time to fly
home rich to splendid goods and lands.
Yet before he makes his goal, odious old age
lays hold of him first. Appalling disease
consumes another. Some are killed in war
where death carries them under the dark earth.
Some drown and die under the myriad waves
when a hurricane slams across the blue salt water
cracking their cargo ship. Others rope a noose
around their wretched necks and choose to die,
abandoning the sun of day. A thousand black spirits
waylay man with unending grief and suffering.
If you listen to my counsel, you won’t want
the good things of life; nor batter your heart
by torturing your skull with cold remorse.

Three Oddest Words -Wislawa Szymborska

When I pronounce the word Future,
the first syllable already belongs to the past.

When I pronounce the word Silence,
I destroy it.

When I pronounce the word Nothing,
I make something no nonbeing can hold.

Uninvited Guest (Róisín Murphy)

I am walking the streets
I am wandering aimlessly
I can see that it's all for sale
and it uncertains me

All alone
And it looks like everyone else
Is busy
All avoiding
Eye contact with me

I could be well dressed
Even all the money I've left
I could buy another day of nothing
Even in my best
I'm an uninvited guest
Waste another day of nothing

I could get out of my head
Even all the money I've left
I could buy another day of nothing
Even in my best
I'm an uninvited guest
Lost another day of nothing

I've been walking the streets
It's another purposeless day
I am far from the reasons it took to pass this way

I am haunted by thoughts
I am taunted by things to do
And people to see
Catch my eye, passerby
Before I
Pass through

GUYS!
upon rummaging through some old files, i stumbled upon one of my own!!

bucket bucket sandbar
bucket noodle bones
sitting with a crocodile
sitting all alone

droop dingy dishrag
pretzels on the floor
grandma made some headway
falling through the door

Thanks for sharing.

Really.

I like that you mentioned pretzels.

I think this Gene Clark lyric is poetic. Particularly this part of the second verse into the chorus...

And the laughter of children employed
by the fantasies not yet destroyed
by the dogmas of those they avoid
knowing not what they are

And the right and the wrong and insane
and the answers they cannot explain
pulsate from my soul through my brain
in a spanish guitar
