Ford Anglia Van.....Nice!

I had one in my youth, it had been severely modified before I got it, flared guards port holes in the roof floor to ceiling shag pile carpet mood lighting lowered suspension free flow exhaust etc etc and eventually ended up with a full roll cage and a V8 motor, then after several attempts to kill me, I had to sell it on before it succeeded.

302 small block
When I originally got the thing it had a Cortina 1500 motor gearbox and diff, all had been badly installed and nothing lined up, as a result it went through a bunch of clutchs and universal joints, I was working in the motor trade at the time, so the replacement parts came cheap. Eventually, whilst involved in some high speed action, the engine exploded (blew the bonnet clean off) a con rod had punched a massive hole in the engine block which severed a fuel line and boom spectacular explosion.....When the V8 went in "the first time" the torque tore the engine mounts off the chassis, we strengthened some things and gave it another try and the engine was twisting the chassis so much it was lifting the left front wheel off the ground, which, at speed, was quite exciting. We then constructed a roll cage/sub frame that the engine and suspension were directly mounted too, problem(s) solved.....and it only took about three years and a lot of beers to complete.....
