It didn't turn out so great for him

As many parts of the world are going into hiding or at least social distancing themselves from the coronavirus, Insane Clown Posse’s Shaggy 2 Dope has a solution for combatting coronavirus.

In a video posted to the group’s Instagram on Thursday (March 12), Shaggy 2 Dope, born Joseph Utsler, explained that consuming “dirt snow” is the best way to prevent getting COVID-19.

“Good old fashioned dirt snow. God made dirt. Dirt don’t hurt. Take out the rocks, and then it will build your immune system,” he said before shoving a handful of dark grey snow into his mouth.

After eating it up, he said, “That’s how you beat the fucking system.”

The next day (March 13), Insane Clown Posse just posted a photo of one the band member’s chest covered in ivies, an EKG monitor patch an a heartrate monitor device on his finger. The caption said that Shaggy 2 Dope was the one in the photo.

“Straight from Shaggy’s hospital bed tonight,” the caption said. “LIVE!!!! The Shaggy And The Creep Show podcast, you read it correctly, live from Shaggy’s hospital room bed just hours away!”

It’s currently unknown why Shaggy is in the hospital. Although, there are many comments pointing to the consumption of dirt snow to be the reason.

So the lessons from all of this are to check out the CDC to learn how to best fight off or prevent infection and avoid eating a handful of dirt snow.

Coronavirus comes for spring break: Local officials close Florida beaches after governor refuses to
At the height of the spring break rush, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday he would not order the beaches closed.

Local officials in Florida towns and cities are taking it upon themselves to close beaches amid the coronavirus outbreak after Gov. Ron DeSantis refused to, even as spring breakers and others crowd the shores.

At the height of the college break rush, DeSantis said Tuesday that he would not order the beaches closed, but he did limit parties on beaches to 10 people per group.

DeSantis said it's "not uniform throughout the state that you're seeing massive crowds at beaches," despite reports and images of people packing the sand.

Still, the mayors of Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale, two of the most popular beach destinations in the state, issued orders to close their beaches last Sunday.

Public beaches in Tampa are also closed until further notice, city officials said.

Naples announced Wednesday that it would close its beaches until March 30.

All public beaches in Miami-Dade County will close as of Thursday night, Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez announced Wednesday. Parks, nonessential retail, private educational facilities, casinos and other recreational and entertainment activities are also ordered closed or restricted as of Thursday night, he said.

Beaches in Lee County will also close Thursday night, according to county officials. Popular beach vacation destinations Fort Myers and Sanibel are in Lee County.

On Wednesday, Clearwater voted to close its beaches starting Monday.

Clearwater Beach was relatively busy Wednesday with residents and visitors who said they chose not to cancel planned vacations over coronavirus fears.

"I feel like we're not going to stop our life because of that, but we'll definitely keep precautions," said Anamaria Nowak, 20, who was there with a friend. "We didn't come with a group of friends. We're going to stay by ourselves and not share our things."

College students and younger people in general have been criticized for not taking the virus seriously and for seeming to disregard that they could carry it to higher-risk people, like the elderly.

Clearwater's decision to close its beaches comes as neighboring beaches could stay open.

Pinellas County, where Clearwater is located, on Wednesday said that "after much consideration and deliberation," they were splitting from the pack and keeping their beaches open. But on Thursday, the Pinellas County Commission on unanimously voted to close all beaches starting on Friday, until at least April 6.

Nearly 330 people in Florida have tested positive for COVID-19, the state Health Department reported Wednesday night. Eight Florida residents have died.

COVID-19: Hamilton McDonald's worker charged, police say she used fake doctor's note saying she had virus

"Police have charged an employee at a McDonald’s restaurant in Hamilton, Ont., saying she used a faked doctor’s note claiming she tested positive for COVID-19 to get out of work.

When the 18-year-old female employee handed the purported medical note to her supervisor on March 19, McDonald’s immediately closed the restaurant and sent all employees home to self-isolate.

It remained closed for several days and was sanitized by a professional cleaning company, while the public was warned about potential transmission to customers and staff. Customers were told to contact Ontario Public Health if they had concerns and had been served at the restaurant on March 15.

The note, however, was a fraud, Hamilton police said Friday."

Police issue warning after hundreds flock to Wellington's Oriental Parade

As soon as the rain stopped in Wellington on Sunday, thousands escaped to Oriental Parade, but Police Commissioner Mike Bush says this may cause a rethink on the rules.

Police have issued a warning after hundreds of people flocked to Wellington's Oriental Parade for some afternoon sun on Sunday.

Police Commissioner Mike Bush said he was surprised at the number of people out and about on Oriental Parade when he drove past on Sunday.

While most appeared to be following social distancing rules, staying two metres apart from one another and only associating with those within their own bubbles, he was concerned not everyone was.

Bush said if people did not comply with the lockdown rules, they would have to take another look at the rules.

"I'll use this opportunity to appeal to people, you must stay local. I think if people aren't complying we are going to have to revisit this."

Police were seen patrolling in cars and the police launch the Lady Elizabeth IV was seen patrolling the shallow waters around the Oriental Parade beach.

He said people should not be wandering five or six kilometres away from home, and if they do see other people out and about, to keep their distance.

"Really keep that social distancing."

One Oriental Parade resident, who did not want to be named, said he had lived in the area for many years and had never seen it so busy.

"So many people decided to come out at the same time, in groups, for a walk and a run.

On Monday a Stuff reporter observed people walking in the middle of the path, making it difficult for others to stay two metres away, and there were a few groups of people in twos or threes sitting around and talking.

"There is nothing wrong with going for a walk or looking after your mental health through physical exercise, but everyone else is doing this in their own homes or in solitude, when no one is outside."

On Monday a Stuff reporter said people could be seen walking down, and sitting at Oriental Parade.

One person was in the water.

Stuff has also seen reports of similar behaviour on other beach side locations around Wellington, including Island Bay and Lyall Bay.

There were also reports that Nairnville Park in Ngaio was busy over the weekend.

Police Commissioner Mike Bush was surprised at the number of people out and about on Oriental Parade.

A witness reported groups of adults and children playing soccer together, and others chatting to each other in groups.

"They didn't seem to understand or care that this two metre rule is to protect us all. We really do not need this four week lockdown turning into eight."

When asked by Stuff whether police want to see the rules tightened and what this might look like, a spokesperson responded saying the rules around self-isolation and outdoor exercise remained the same.

"Self-isolation means staying at home. The Government has asked all New Zealanders to stay at home to help stop the spread of Covid-19."

She said people were allowed to go for a walk, or exercise and enjoy nature within their own neighbourhood.

Meanwhile shoppers, many wearing masks, kept the 2 metre distance as they queued on Monday at Pak'nSave in Kilbernie.

"If you do leave your house, you must keep a two metre distance from other people at all times."
