The one time I saw him play live was quite a show. It was early 70's in Chicago. He played great, except for the parts when he fell over on stage. Then there was the black woman backup singer. JW kept walking over to her during solos, and grabbing her crotch and dry humping her on the spot. Those parts were really stupid. But when he got down to the business of blues he was shockingly good. A little yin, a little yang....

Yes, which brings us back to the lackluster thread title.
I understand - there was nothing but love behind it, yet...
it reminds me of those people who insist on putting birthday cards on grave sites.

Edgar's playing at the same place I just saw Di Meola and will see Todd later this summer. The guy I talked to said tickets were moving kind slow for Edgar.

^The last time I saw Edgar was in 2012 when he toured with his brother Johnny headlining.

During Frankenstein, Edgar accidentally knocked his keytar to the floor. I wouldn't work for the big keys part coming up. Edgar went right to his drums and gave us some extra licks before finishing the song on drums. Great evening.

I haven't heard 'em all, but I love the ones I have...Johnny Winter And Live, Progressive Blues Experiment and Second Winter.
I don't think he ever toured here in Oz unfortunately...

I saw The Johnny Winter Band, back in the early '70's, at a rock festival. At that time, I had never heard of him before.
So it goes!
