No, I'm afraid you're out of luck there.

This is all I know about Ike's situation and it's not my business to pry any further, but he's a great talent and it would be a shame to see that go to waste, so I hope he's sorting himself out.

I didn't know Ike had drug problems...I like Ike....I guess we all have our"thing"...He has 2 cds available thru his site...and he still plays out...so he's still going...It's a whole different job hunting down all the past players with Zappa, as if the FZ catalog doesn't keep us busy enough...

Ike had a toothache during the second week of July 2002. Is that when you saw him last? Which show?

.....and YES, it's my job to know these things. 8)

What's the problem with Ike Willis? Does he have a drug habit? Why is he so estranged from the Zappa family now?

Don't know about his drug problems, but I know what he's doing this weekend.

I like Ike, and Ike likes me. 8)

I'm proud to say that when Ike reissued his first album Shoulda Gone Before I Left, he included my name among others in the "Extra Special Thanks To" section beneath the disc. It's a great album with Ray White and Arthur Barrow as special guests. Artie is on one track, and Ray is on about half of the album.

Here's what Ike wrote:

"Jimmie D, for lyrics, transcription, and being my historian,
archivist, keeper o' the flame and in general factotum."

Is this true?

Gail (or her hunchmen) called the Ike Willis/URR gig AT THE VENUE last night. They were at the gig ready to go, the owner panicked a bit of course, but was reassured of how ridiculous the attempt is, as long as he was up to date on ASCAP, etc. He was, and they were not recording or broadcasting the show in any way. The show went on.

WTF?

Ike's first solo album is horrible. There I said it  , and I've felt that way about it for a long time. I've honestly tried to like it.
I bought it on vinyl sealed with a small cut-mark in the corner for like $8. It sounds very '80s, in a bad way. I would have sold it years ago, but it was never worth anything on the 'bay, even before the CD reissue.

Fred, You're full of shit and you know it. You're bashing an album that doesn't deserve the kind of grossly incoherent and idiotically exaggerated drivel you are using that is so irrelevant to the thing you claim to detest so much that you have made it all too obvious that your entire motivation is strictly to slam something hard without anything specific in mind -- the Ike Willis solo album was nothing other than a convenience to serve your purposes.

I am not one to throw barbs at anyone without PERSONAL knowledge of their foibles, because I haven't yet met any perfect people.

Ike was good when I saw him with P/O in 2003, with Don Preston and good when I saw him with P/O in 2006. He never said anything bad about FZ or anyone else and if he has a personal issue to resolve, let's all wish him well.

Ok then Mr. Would it have been better if I said I don't like the album instead?
