Sometimes I've wondered what if the original Mothers had Hugh Hopper on bass and Robert Wyatt on drums from the Soft Machine. This would've sounded like a sickest avant-rock ensemble you could think of.

MMmmm....that would be cool.

In my head I can sometimes hear Tony Williams, Lenny White, or Gary Husband playing with him. To hear any of those guys would be something.

Supposedly, Frank called up Micky Dolenz if he'd be interested in joining the Mothers as a drummer.
Their TV show had just been cancelled. Micky turned it down, cause of contractual obligations.
